A reminder that the landfill is CLOSED tomorrow (Boxing Day).
Recycle it right this holiday season! Paper gift wrap and greeting cards, and metal tins can add extra material to your recycling bins during this time of year.... Make sure to check your local guidelines to stay on top of your holiday recycling and contact the Saskatchewan Waste Reduction Council to find drop-off options for material that is not accepted in your recycling bins. www.saskwastereduction.ca/recycle See more
Twine Collection Pilot Program has begun - check out the new webpage. https://cleanfarms.ca/saskatchewan-pilot-program-recycling/ Be sure to stop by the Last Mountain Regional Landfill to pick up a few bags for your operation. Twine is NOT allowed in your red Loraas bins.
Refer to this information sheet when deciding whether material you're throwing out goes in the waste bin, recycle bin or neither!
The landfill is OPEN tomorrow from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.!
As you start summer digging projects, just a reminder that the Last Mountain Regional Landfill accepts clean fill for FREE! Also, as you're cleaning up and collecting your grain bags, remember to bring them in. As long as they're rolled and secured, they will be accepted for FREE!
While SARCAN depots are a little busy this week (!!!), if you want to use Drop & Go or only have paint or electronics to recycle you can skip the line! Just ask our Recycling Guide in the high visibility vest for details!
To any transfer station users, REMEMBER to close the recycle bin lids once your recycle materials have been placed inside. Thank you!

Recycling is available for Last Mountain Regional Landfill members. Please be respectful and only put allowable items in the bins. In the Loraas Recycle's single stream recycling program only household packaging materials are allowable, these include: Paper/Cardboard Household Tin/Household Aluminum Recyclable Plastics #1 to #7... In a 1 week long audit completed in February, of the items received in the recycle facility, 30% were accepted and 70% not-accepted. Please DO NOT put these items in your recycle bin: 1. Human Bodily Fluid Contaminated Items (diapers, hygiene products, masks and gloves) 2. Sharps (needles, razors) 3. Aerosols The cost to recycle will continue to increase if this isn't managed and without a recycling program, our landfill will fill up much quicker and waste fees will go up. Do your part to recycle appropriately.

Grain Bag Recycling is now available at Last Mountain Regional Landfill! Rolled grain bags can be dropped off, free of charge, at Last Mountain Regional Landfill. Please call ahead for site conditions or if any assistance is required to unload. Please note that grain bags must be rolled and secured with twine prior to drop off. This will ensure a smooth drop off process, keeps contamination to a minimum and maximizes the recyclability of the material.... Visit www.cleanfarms.ca to learn more about how to properly prepare your grain bags for recycling and more news about this program.
Do you have extra electronics hanging around taking up space? Check out the Recycle My Electronics website at https://www.recyclemyelectronics.ca/sk/what-can-i-recycle/. The website will list what can be recycled at any of the drop off locations. At this time the Last Mountain Regional Landfill is NOT a drop off site but on the website type in your postal code and it will show you where the drop off sites are and you can decide what works best for you!
A reminder that the landfill is open today and your Christmas tree will be free if you bring it along!
