Meet Benelli & Sadie, Mud Butte Simmentals "helpful" hired hands. Benelli - Karelian Bear Dog Loves naps, truck rides, foot rubs, cheese and baby calves. ... Sadie - Border Collie Loves.... playing ball 24/7, her mom, truck rides and her daily egg when collecting from the coop. They are a pain in the butt most days, but the farm would be boring without them!

Ok. Let's talk about this picture. This view was right in my yard. I used this photo to experiment some editing techniques. Do I love it? No. Is it perfect? No. But it's progress and I am all about sharing this journey with you! We are planning some fun exciting things for 2021 and can't wait till we can share! We have had Michels Canada working around our place for the last few months and they have been great to work with. The amount of fires they have attended this summer, the waves you get driving down the road and the hardworking teamwork that is seen everyday does not go unnoticed. They once said " Mamas, dont let you babies grow up to be cowboys" I say, LET THEM! This photo was taken out at Ya-Ha Tinda Eastern Alberta Rockies when I was doing my yearly family camping trip. This family was camped behind us and became very quick friends when we got talking and realized they had family in Consort! Small world! ... This little roper was putting on a show tossing his hat up and giving it the rodeo celebration swing and we could'nt resist capturing this moment for his family!

As Corb Lund once said " Everything is better with some cows around" We have a felt a little off and uninspired the last few days. Best way to deal with it, go out to the pens with your camera and just keep shooting. See, we are our biggest critic. It dont matter how many times someone tells you that your work is amazing. You will always compare it to someone else. In reality, no ones work is the same. Everyone has their calling. Mine is the rural lifestyle which mostly hig...hlights Agriculture. So this is a reminder, next time when you feel like packing that camera away because you don't feel like your work is worthy anymore, go for a quick walk and just get snapping. It's the little things that pass by that we don't see and cherish forever. Even when someone seems to have it all together, they might be facing a battle in their head everyday.
