It was a great afternoon at the 2019 Lobster Bash Volunteer & Sponsor BBQ. Lots of food shared with our friends. A couple of photos were taken, and then I forgot to take more . . . just getting older and more forgetful, I guess. If anyone else took some, please post them here in the comments. Thanks to all the great volunteers and sponsors that came out to be with us today . . . we appreciate all you do for the Lobster Bash.
Our Volunteer/Sponsor BBQ is this afternoon at 4pm, at the Digby Curling Club. Anyone who was a volunteer at the 2019 Lobster Bash, or a sponsor of the 2019 Lobster Bash, is invited to attend this appreciation event. Come alone, or bring the family, it's a great time to meet everyone who collectively makes the Lobster Bash the success it has become. We'll have burgers, hotdogs, beverages, 50/50, and prize draws. A popular attraction this year at the Lobster Bash was the Monster Truck Rides. There was a long lineup most of the afternoon on Sunday, but the wait was worth it.
The Blessing of the Fleet Service gets the day started on Sunday during the Lobster Bash.

Jimmy Flynn entertained the crowd at the arena Saturday evening.
Bob Marshall and the Basin Street Blues Band performed Saturday evening.

Wrestling was one of the entertainment events during the 2019 Lobster Bash.
Chet and Stacey Denton showed the people how the wooden lobster traps are built. Steve Morehouse, who helped with the building of the traps for quite a few years, passed away recently, and he will be missed by the Lobster Bash and the community.
The Lobster Bash auctions went well this year . . . a professional auctioneer was in the crowd and offered to help . . . greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the businesses that donated items to be auctioned off.
Face Painting by Michele is popular with the children.
People find interest in the Scallop Shucking Demo . . . and a few enjoy eating them raw.
The Touch Tank is always a popular attraction at the Lobster Bash.

The winners of the 2019 Lobster Bash Mud Dash were: 1st Place Adult Female: Christine Craig; 1st Place Adult Male: Zack Allbright; 1st Place Youth Female: Rhaya Robinson; 1st Place Youth Male: Matteus Akin.
The 1st Place winner of the Women's Lobster Banding, and the 1st Place winner of the Men's Lobster Banding when up against the lobster banding machine from the Alliance Rubber Company from Arkansas . . . Travis Chute beat the banding machine, but the banding machine beat Laurie Thurber. The Alliance Rubber Company gave prize money to both contestants for going up against their machine. Thanks to the two contestants, and the Alliance Rubber Company . . . a great competition.
