Well hellooooo Locals! It's been awhile. Sorry for the silence. We typically would have had our New Year's issue out for you in January but the market was SOOOO quiet that that was not to be this year. Gearing up for Spring instead and looking forward to bringing you stories to wrap up your winter and help you change gears for warmth, green, and birds to come. For now snow for a few weeks still while we work away on Local's Spring issue. Stay tuned, stay warm and see you soon.

The Holiday Issue of Local is on the street!!! Many profiles of Local businesses in there in the hopes of inspiring you to support them and other local businesses and shop local this holiday season. Also some nice stories about the arts to balance out the business and give you some other tales to chew on through the holidays. Hello Locals - great local event today held by Nathalie-Roze, who likely needs no introduction but who's store used to sit at Leslie and Queen and who many of us miss muchly. Have no fear though, N-R and her talented crew of friends and fellow designers are setting up shop at the church at Carlaw and Queen for a day of tea (courtesy of Pippins in the Beach - thanks Barb!!) and inspired gifts for you, your family and friends. Nathalie Roze is at Eastminster Church alongside many other artisans today until 5. Eastminster is right next door to Carrot Common. I always miss N-R particularly at this time of year, no need to miss her or her fabulous goods today. Enjoy the day Locals!!

Here they are - the details for the Beach Studio Tour that starts today and happens tomorrow and Sunday as well. Three days to see the many talented artists who open their studios to share their works with you. Always an inspiring stroll, particularly when paired with a beautiful weekend. Enjoy! :)sd

Hi Locals - here they are - the details for Riverside's Walkfest tomorrow only! There are MANY walks to choose from - literally something to suit every interest so take a peek and then take a walk on the Riverside. :)sd

Gorgeous Fall day and weekend ahead and two great local events to get you out exploring. In the Beach, the Beach Studio Tour will be in full force. In the Riverside, it's Walkfest. Both are great opportunities to learn more about each of these neighbourhoods so I invite Riverside to the Beach Studio Tour and the Beach to Riverside's Walkfest. Leslieville, you can go east one day and west the next. It's a perfect opportunity to get to know your neighbours that much better. I'll post details for both - hope to see you all out and about. Hi Locals! A fantastic, inspiring, pollinator-friendly BEE Aware festival awaits you this afternoon at Fairmount Park Farmers' Market! The bees could not have asked for a better day for finding out ways to help them survive! Of course all the great vendors are there as well to feed you while you learn about the best ways to take care of pollinators. BEE there :)sd

This is an event you don't want to miss. This Saturday Kingston Road takes us into back alleys, basements and familiar local businesses to enjoy art from artists of all ages, music and of course the friendly atmosphere this strip is famous for serving up. Hope to see you there. :)sarah
