Boot Drive update! It’s about a month into our Virtual Boot Drive and we’re very pleased to say that we’ve raised just over $2500! A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to donate online so far. Thank you to local businesses like Rellish Transport (pictured) for your support of our charities and to the Vernon Square Safeway for allowing our boots to be stationed at their tills! The Virtual Boot Drive will still be open for donations and you can do so at:... https://muscle.akaraisin.com//virtual/t/vernonfirefighters Stay tuned for more big fundraising news in the coming weeks! Thank you! #musculardystrophycanada #filltheboot #fundraiser
Our thoughts are with his family and friends, rest easy Karl.
Be sure to check your smoke alarms!
Just a friendly reminder that this Sunday (Nov 1), it'll be time to "fall back" one hour as we return to Standard Time. This means it's also time to check your... smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to make sure they're working and the batteries are charged. Fire Chief David Lind reminds us: "Working smoke alarms save lives!" Learn more about smoke alarm safety here: http://ow.ly/TNQ950C6AYK
Members from A and C shift here want to remind you about our virtual Fill the Boot campaign. So far you have donated nearly $450 dollars toward Muscular Dystrophy Canada! Let’s keep it going! Here is the link if you are interested in donating, every penny goes towards a great cause! https://muscle.akaraisin.com//virtual/t/vernonfirefighters
