Local 737 Thunder Bay Jail 22.11.2020

5 years ago today the Thunder Bay Jail went through a riot where over 70 inmates took control of the PC living units and took a co worker hostage. The events of that night will never be erased from my memory. I'm honored to work with such amazing people who go above and beyond what are expected of them.

CONFIRMED CASE OF COVID 19 INMATE AT MONTEITH CORRECTIONAL COMPLEX HARDWORKING FRONT LINE CORRECTIONAL OFFICERS AT RISK. INMATE SPENT ALMOST A MONTH THERE BEFO...RE BEING DIAGNOSED Inside Edition has confirmed with sources at the Monteith Correctional Complex located near Timmins, Ontario that an inmate has tested positive for Covid 19 The inmate was in custody about one month. During this pandemic, it’s important to remember our hardworking Correctional Officers who don’t have the proper protection against this virus. These Officers look after the absolute worst members of our society. Let’s face it, no one really cares (except Liberals) if a criminal dies for whatever reason, but our hardworking Correctional Officers deserve protection. The work conditions in Monteith are much better than those of the Thunder Bay Jail. Our Correctional Officers do their very best under the worst conditions. UPDATE: Inside Edition has confirmed with sources that on March 31,2020 there were two inmates from Monteith Correctional Complex that stayed overnight in the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre Admitting and Discharge, enroute to Kenora. They were part of a 8-inmate transfer by Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre (S.S. Marie) staff that came here. Four inmates went to the TBCC and four went to the TBDJ. Sources indicate that the 2 Monteith inmates were not close to the infected Covid 19 inmate.
