Local Dog Rescue sends a huge THANK YOU to the students of St. Elizabeth school for their awesome fundraising events. Just before break Mrs. Zapitelli’s grade 2/3 class sold popsicles and Mrs. Arnone (physed teacher) organized the movie day!!! They raised $500 which they applied to our vet bill at Meadows Animal Clinic. Thank you so so much to the teachers and all the kids for helping out the animals, you're all amazing! <3 =)

Ooops... Two weeks ago Local Dog Rescue received a very generous donation of $500 thanks to comedian Miki Hughes and the HillCity Kinettes. I had written a post to auto-publish at a specific time and just now realized it didn't post. Aaaack, my bad! So once again we would like to send out a HUGE thank you to the wonderful women at HillCity Kinettes and (equally wonderful) Miki Hughes for their generosity and for all the help and support they give to volunteer operations throughout the community. Why Milo? Why hasn't anyone filled out their application to adopt you? Be patient Milo...we know your forever active family is out there....<3

Hailey baby is now ready to start looking for her new forever home. She's around 7 months of age and currently about 35lbs. I can't predict how big she may get as I have no idea what breed she's a mix of. She could be part hound, shepherd, doberman... your guess is as good as mine. We did have a bit of a set back as she seemed to have no house training whatsoever when she first arrived in January so starting fresh with a four month old pup it took a little longer than usual. ...She also developed a urinary tract infection (uti) after she was spayed at the end of February so that hindered the training a little. She's all better now and almost on par for where a puppy her age should be in the house training department, but does still have the occasional accident. Her personality has really blossomed and she is now for the most part a happy, friendly, energetic, outgoing "normal" puppy. She does still exhibit some nervous behavior around loud noises, commotion, raised voices etc. so for these reasons she will be looking for a calmer home without young children and without a lot of hustle and bustle. Kids over ten should be fine as long as they're fairly calm and respectful of animals, mindful of doors, yard gates etc. Ideally we're looking for someone who would be interested in attending training classes with her (positive only) to continue building her confidence. Its official... our beautiful girl Sandy has been adopted! Her family has renamed her Scarlett and she and her new big baby brother are the best of friends. We couldn't be happier knowing the wonderful life and amazing adventures she's going to have with her new family. Congratulations Scarlett, our christmas wish for you came true! And to everyone else out there we thank you all for your continued support and wish you all a very merry Christmas and a safe and happy holiday season... <3
