This is is one of the rare times I will post a personal message on this page. Feel free to disagree, but I believe this has to be said. This New Year's is a huge challenge for many people and businesses. The last minute PHO restricting alcohol sales to finish at 8 pm is just one of them. There are more people here "vacationing" and stressing out our already on edge community. Line ups are huge as people work to maintain social distancing. ... And it is our front line staff who are working their asses off with unprecedented stresses, so please remember these realities.... It doesn't matter if you have been coming here with your group of families for years, you cannot all sit at the same table. max 6 is the rule. And yes, your 3 foot tall "toddler" does count as a full seat. It doesn't matter if you have known each other for years, you can not table hop to visit your friends. It doesn't matter if you have been coming to the restaurant or pub for years, or how well you think you know the owner/manager, you can not order alcohol after 8 pm on Nw Years or after 10 on January 1st. It doesn't matter if you are a "paying customer", you do not have the right to berate the staff on the hill, in a store or restaurant for having to wait in line or "put up with" social distancing protocols. If you are visiting from out of town, while we appreciate your business, you made the decision to disregard the public health recommendations and travel outside of your local community, putting ours at risk. So please, respect the efforts that our residents, businesses and staff have continued to make for the last 10 months as we try to keep our resort town safe, healthy and open. This is one time that it is not all about you. If you are one of our amazing residents, business operators or staff making this all possible, Thank you. This is not meant to be a debate about the policies, it is about appreciating our people. Happy New Year and stay safe! Chris
