Rachel is your first point of contact, she keeps everything organized and moving in the right direction. She's also good for advice when it comes to hair, nails and fitness. Crystal is our newest team member, graduating from the Insurance Specialist program at triOS College this past summ...er. She assists with new quotes, policy changes and client updates. She's also a talented baker and whips up the best treats in her spare time. Dorothy is often the go-to broker for advice as she is a wealth of industry knowledge. Premiums are on the rise and we hear you! Homeowners beware! If you are looking to buy a home, or if you are looking at changing insurance providers be aware of this potential plumbing issue. Many insurers will decline to cover homes with this specific type of PEX plumbing: Kitec/IPEX. They were also sold under the brand names of IPEX Aqua, IPEX Homerite, PEX-Al-PEX, PlumbBetter, WARMRITE, Kitec XPA, AmbioComfort, XPA, KERR Controls and Plomberie Amelioree. Some things to know about Kitec/IPEX: ... This was the first version of plastic plumbing (known as PEX) that replaced copper for hot/cold water supply and radiant heating. If your home or condo was built between 1995 and 2007, it likely has Kitec. At that time, it was acceptable to building standards and less expensive. This particular piping has been found to fail, most commonly at the fittings. The problem is that the fittings disconnect and allow larger amounts of water to gush out. The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) has included Kitec plumbing to the list of Material Facts that realtors are required to take reasonable steps to discover and disclose.
