Hi Gang.. I know we post a lot of silly, yet hopefully informative stuff on the page, but sometimes an event happens that just cant be laughed or joked away. ... Today Toronto sadly joined a fraternity of chaos. That tradgedy in Toronto weighs heavily on me tonight. I have a few brothers in blue who were touched by this event today and will feel its cold touch for a long time. Ive spent a lot of time in Toronto, and truly think its one of the best cities on the planet and tonight I will mourn with its citizens and reach out to friends and family who still live there. I know we, Kensington Police, are on the east coast, but our page and our town has the ability to touch so many, so tonight I ask you to think of the families whos lives have been so dramatically altered today. Take a moment and direct some cosmic good will to the first responders who attended and helped care for the survivors and who also cried for the victims all while still doing their profession proud. Police, fire, EMS and communications. All of them working in harmony while surrounded by sights and sounds, smells and experiences that will haunt their dreams for years. So tonight gang, as you tuck your children into bed, or say goodnight to a family member, or reach for the phone to call a parent who you have been meaning to call but, you know, life was getting in the way.. pause for just a second and reflect on how precious each and every moment is with them. And how fast a life can change. Maybe that hug goodnight will be a little tighter, and a lot more meaningful.
