We recently acquired this metal can from a dealer in Wakefield, Massachusetts USA. This one is in good condition and was previously used for distribution of Blueberries. The graphic work was done by Montreal Litho Company Limited, known for their iconic artwork in the early 1900s. A previous owner of this item soldered the top and the label appears varnished, which kept the colours in exceptional shape. #arlmuseum #loggieville #montreallitho

It’s not hard to find vintage A & R Loggie correspondence all over the world. This envelope recently acquired from a collector in Victoria, British Columbia was from the Richibucto location in 1947. It was originally sent to Cluett Peabody & Company in Kitchener, Ontario, who was a longtime manufacturer of shirts, detachable shirt cuffs, collars, and related apparel. #arlmuseum #loggieville #RICHIBUCTO

This building doesn’t look too much different than it does today. What is now R W Kelly Auto Glass on Water Street in Loggieville, this was previously the home for CARL Motors Ltd. CARL was acronym for Colter A. & R. Loggie. Ashley Colter was the owner of A. & R. Loggie in the late 1950s and 60s. Colter was a prominent Fredericton businessman and founder of Diamond Construction Ltd. His work has changed the face of buildings at UNB, the Trans-Canada Highway, the Fredericton and Halifax airports, docks in Saint John, Halifax and Dartmouth City Hall, the Pointe-du-Chène Wharf and the Princess Margaret Bridge.

Some wonderful pictures shared with us by the McCormack family in Loggieville. Shown here is the Train Terminal in Loggieville (where Forrock Construction is located today) and the large A. & R. Loggie Mill. Loggieville was a great exporter of so many fine products back in the day, with many trains coming and going - it was certainly a busy place. #Loggieville #ARLMuseum #Trains

Our acquisitions team acquired this beautifully preserved wall calendar in St. Andrews, New Brunswick from 1956. The Manderson family was well-known in the Loggieville community for their beach, rental cottages, and Campground at East Point. Parker Manderson was a great businessman in Loggieville and local historian. He also had some of the largest collection of Loggie memorabilia before his death on June 3, 1997. #Manderson #ARLMuseum #Loggieville

We have scoured our archives and found some of the best press clippings involving the A. & R. Loggie empire over the years - some as far back as the early 1900s. We have posted over 200 different clippings - from old advertisements to job appointments; the opening of plants, factories, and stores; obituaries of key company figures; articles detailing the many fires, and fascinating stories about the rise of the company and brand. We even found some scandals involving political figures, theft and fraud. We hope you enjoy! #ARLMuseum #Loggieville

We acquired another well-preserved crate found in the Moncton area. This one smaller and was used for Blueberries. The coloured label is in great shape and showcases the seal from the Agricultural & Industrial Exhibition at Montréal, Québec. The company was awarded top prize for canned goods in 1895. #loggieville #arlmuseum

Great column (April 30, 2020) by Steve Heckbert for the Miramichi Leader about the A. & R. Loggie Company fishstick operation in the 1950s and 60s. A Brunswick News Subscription is required to read. It should be available in Friday, May 1, 2020 version of the Miramichi Leader for all to enjoy.

Here is a Newspaper ad placed by our friends at McCain Foods (Canada) in celebration of expansion of the Fish Stick and Frozen Fish operations circa 1960s. Loggie’s Fish products were always enjoyed with McCain’s delicious French Fries and were valued corporate partners back in the day. #Loggieville #ARLmuseum #McCain.

We acquired this A. & R. Loggie Blueberry crate back in October 2019 from a collector in Fredericton who found it in Ottawa. Amazing how nicely the label has aged. Wonderful find. If you have any artifacts that you would like to share or possibly donate, email us at [email protected].
