Legend has it that this 6th-century abbess chased off a cattle rustler by siccing a colony of bees after him. She used herbs and honey to heal people, and apparently she contained the plague by drawing a line in the ground with her staff. February 11 is her feast day.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has designated 2021 as the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables. Goals include increasing nutrition and reducing waste.
