The Psalmist declares "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with you with my loving eye on you" (Psalm 32:8). In these challenging and pivotal times we do need the Lord's counsel and instruction as we survive this COVID-19 pandemic. There are many "doomsday conversations" happening in church circles and online about how COVID-19 and the ensuing economic crisis is bringing on the end of the local church as we know it. However, I am not... one to entertain such thoughts and agree there is a "new normal" ahead of us. I believe that this is actually an incredible season where we can reach more people for Christ. As I stated in one of my recent sermons, "The best is yet to come". Church Re-opening: I know many of you are wondering when the Church will resume services in our building. Our Church board has appointed a "Re-opening Steering Committee" which is presently working on all the provincial, health and Canada Central District requirements and protocols that are necessary before we can re-open. Thanks to all who completed the re-opening survey which is helping us to understand your mindset and needs. Our District has mandated us to provide a comprehensive plan that has to be submitted to the District for approval before we reopen. At this point we are projecting a "soft opening" first as a trial run before a regular opening. We have not yet fixed a date as we have been advised to not make hasty decisions. The provincial regulation of 30% capacity means that we will only be able to have a maximum of 60 persons in attendance. This means that we will have to have implement an attendance registration process. We will also continue to have our service online even when we resume in our building. Stay tuned and stay encouraged. In the meantime, please continue to join with the LFCN church family online through the Zoom Bible studies, support groups, youth group Alpha, children's Zoom, and Sunday morning messages.
