For Ideal Protein Clients: Why are omega 3’s and two teaspoons of oil so important you ask? They help with many things! The biggest thing being gall bladder function. Over time, and increased carb intake for years and years, the gall bladder may develop little stones. Many of these float freely away, never causing any problems...but sometimes they stay or get lodged in and can build up and get bigger over long periods of high carb intake (for most of us, our entire life pre-...IP!) The omega’s and daily oil are there to keep the gall bladder dripping and functioning how it needs to. Otherwise if you’ve missed a few days and then have a fatty cheat off plan, the gall bladder reminds you it’s there...and sometimes violently can act up. IF...you had stones from years of build up...AND the gall bladder is then contracting like mad to catch up to your extra fat intake, there could be stones that start causing pain upon contracting, or worse, become dislodged and exit into the ducts. IF...this stone was very large, it could get stuck in the ducts, causing a worsening gall bladder attack and perhaps pancreatitis that uses the same mechanism. We don’t want this!
