Members of the public are welcome to stop by to enjoy the beautiful heritage gardens at London Heritage Farm during daylight hours. However, due to COVID-19 health precautions, the farmhouse will be closed for the remainder of 2020. If you are interested in learning more about Richmond’s fascinating history, we invite you to visit Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site which reopened to public earlier this month. Currently, the Britannia Shipyard building the heart of ...our National Historic Site is open Thursday to Sunday noon-4pm. For more information about visiting Britannia Shipyards go to https://www.richmond.ca/culture/sites/britannia/about.htm The reopening of facilities is part of the City’s Restoring Richmond Plan, a careful and phased approach to restoring recreational and community programs, services and amenities that were placed on hold back in March. While the City encourages people to be active and enjoy the benefits of social connectivity, it also wants to ensure any restoration of services is done safely and strictly adheres to public health and WorkSafeBC guidelines. Updates to the City’s Restoring Richmond Plan will be shared via the City website at richmond.ca/covid19 and social media channels as they are confirmed.

A glimpse at London Farm's founding history with Charles London, his daughter Lucy and her husband Herbert. This video is part of Day 6 of #DoorsOpenOnline. Doors Open celebrates the diversity of Richmond's heritage, arts and culture. We are one of 37 participating sites across the City. For more information on #DoorsOpenOnline, visit Richmond Museum.
Day 5 of #DoorsOpenOnline and we have a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the Providence, the flagship of the City of Richmond - Local Government and Britannia Shipyards National Historic Site. This year due to the unprecedented situation, #DoorsOpenRichmond is an online celebration rather than in person. 37 sites, including Steveston historic sites, are taking part between June 6 and June 13 with contributions such as videos, photos, and online events. To find out more, visit Richmond Museum.
We continue #DoorsOpenOnline with a video of the Steveston Tram's restoration. Tramcars like the 1220 were the main form of transportation for people in and around Steveston from 1905 until they stopped running in 1958.
In response to COVID-19, our buildings are closed until further notice to minimize the risk of transmission. The health and safety of the public and our staff is our top priority. For more information, please check the City's website at richmond.ca
