We need: 60 bike locks - to help keep the possessions of our folks safe outside, we would like to offer bike locks 100 used tablets/cell phones - an electronic device you’re not using at home that’s able to access WIFI. Remember to clear the memory before donating!!!! Used for personal connections, music, and entertainment. Bring the items above to the downtown location of the YMCA on Waterloo St. Mon-Fri from 7am-7pm, and Sat/Sun 8-2pm. UPDATE: we just got all the computers donated!!! And - we need 8 computers for use in common space. Less than 3 years old, please! Will be used to access information, services, and help provide connections. Then you should support and join the Canadian Lived Experience Leadership Network (CLELN) "This network’s mission is to bring perspective to homelessness in Canada through lived experience. CLELN believes an end to homelessness in Canada is possible with lived experience leading the way. The ultimate goal? The prevention and end of homelessness in Canad...a. The network’s steering committee is comprised of people with lived experience of homelessness, and they’re hoping to grow members to provide a platform for the voices of people from all background and across the country. CLELN will advocate for policy changes in support of preventing and ending homelessness in Canada, inclusion of people with lived or living experience at all levels (programs, systems and policymaking), and developing training to support transformation of programs and systems to support ending homelessness. Soon, CLELN will reach out to members with webinars featuring the best and promising practices on lived experience and advocacy, equity and diversity policies, employment and leadership development." http://cleln.ca/join-us/

Although the London Homeless Coalition (LHC) is saddened that we are unable to gather as a community this year on World Homeless Action Day, we would ask that you take a moment to view the memorial below as we remember lives that have been lost with experiences of homelessness in 2020, within the City of London. If you are a service provider, we encourage you to please share this video with team members and participants who have lost loved ones this year.
