Hello friends! There is no doubt that we've all had a pretty memorable March Break! And now we are back, to continue our private lessons online until it is safe to see all of you in person once again. Please check your inbox for details on setting up online lessons using Skype, FaceTime or Zoom. Feel free to contact your teacher if you have questions or need assistance getting things set up.... First and foremost, we want everyone to stay healthy. But we also want our students to keep learning! We feel that it is very important for us to continue educating our students, providing an outlet or distraction, and doing our part to keep up routines and consistencies in these inconsistent times. Thank you very much for your ongoing support. We look forward to keeping in touch with you all virtually during this time of physical distancing. On a positive note, this down-time could be used productively to advance your music studies! ~ The LMC staff

A new session is starting soon! Expose your little ones to the joys and benefits of making music! HALF STEPS focuses on helping children listen to, create, and read music. Our three-stage program is designed to help young students get prepared and motivated for formal private piano studies. As youngsters pass through our DO, RE, MI levels, they are developing basic musical skills in a fun and supportive environment.... DO level: At this beginning level, we are focused on developing a strong sense of pulse and pitch in our young musicians. Students will work through fun rhythmic activities with percussion instruments, and we introduce tonal patterns, to help their aural training. RE level: While continuing with rhythm and pitch development, children at this stage are also introduced to the musical alphabet, keyboard geography and note and rest values. MI level: At this stage, our students are beginning to read music and play pieces at the piano.
