Hello Friends, London’s Paddle Shop will be closed for the holidays from Thursday, December 24th at noon until Monday, January 4th. During this time, we can still take online orders for shipping only. After the holiday break we will be closed to in-person shopping until January 23rd per the latest Provincial lockdown guidelines. When the time actually comes,... and we are permitted to offer in-person shopping, we will announce it via social media and email. Our online store will remain open for the duration. The store is very well stocked right now. Kayaks are still a little lean, but we’ve never had the amount of accessories available in December as we do this year. To summarize: December 24th January 4th Closed for the holidays. No in-person shopping. Online orders for shipping only. No curbside pick-up. January 4th 23rd Closed for in-person shopping. Please consider placing your online orders early this holiday season as we all will be dealing with a very unique parcel shipping situation. Holiday parcel volumes are always the heaviest of the year. But of course, this year we will be seeing even more parcels being shipped as more people rely on shopping online due to COVID-19. Finally if you consider the difficulties that postal services and shipping companies are going to face while trying to operate with increased safety measures, it's a recipe for delays. Looking Back and Thinking Ahead Hello everyone. I hope this message finds you well. This past year has been interesting to say the least. Looking back it started on a very promising note in the winter when we connected with more people with new kayaks than ever before at the London Boat Show. The 2020 season was looking bright. Then the pandemic struck and naturally we decided to close until it was deemed safe to re-open. What happened next was completely unpredictable. Re-o...pening saw an absolutely unprecedented level of demand for outdoor gear, which is a good thing. But unfortunately the demand came along with disruptions at manufacturers, and broken supply chains. We sold out of a lot of gear by mid-summer and reordering was next to impossible. When people ask how business was this year I cant forget how many times people came in looking for boats and we had nothing to show them. It was hard to disappoint so many people eager to get on the water. Thinking ahead, I can't say that I am confident in production capacities and supply lines getting back to normal any time soon. It's with that in mind that I recommend if you are thinking about getting new equipment next spring, to try to get orders in now if possible. We are going to try to get the store stocked at summer levels before winter. Accessories are already flowing in regularly. Kayaks have also started arriving in small numbers. Hopefully large pre-season kayak orders will fill the shelves by late January. If you are one of the people that were disappointed by the lack of inventory this year, you know that you cannot wait until next summer to get geared-up. We encourage everyone to reach out to us and discuss getting your 2021 paddlesport equipment needs in order sooner rather than later.
