Halloween is right around the corner which means easy access to all kinds of sweets and treats! Here are some tips to help keep those teeth healthy while still enjoying some treats this Halloween: 1. Dentist choice of candy to give out is chocolate...Why? It melts quickly. The length of time sugary foods are in your mouth plays a big role in tooth decay.... 2. Stay away from hard, chewy, sticky candy as they take a long time to eat and tends to stick to your teeth which also takes longer to wash away with your saliva. 3. Sugarless gum is a better alternative to candy. 4. Eat a piece or two of candy with meals because saliva production increases during meals and helps cancel out acids produced by bacteria in your mouth and helps rinse away food particles. 5. First patient having a diamond placed on canine tooth. We are loving the results!

Do you have a white spot on your tooth or teeth that you are embarrassed about? Did you know that the white spots are actually lesions and an indication of tooth decay? Basically that white spot is the first sign of tooth decay! Since they are caused by the tooth decay process, you can expect to find white spot lesions in those areas where dental plaque has been allowed to build up. This can happen after orthodontic treatment since cleaning around dental braces can be diff...icult; they frequently form next to where a person's orthodontic brackets are bonded to their teeth. We have a solution for this and most cases you can say goodbye to drilling! Icon can be used to treat the onset of early cavities both between teeth as well as on the "smooth surfaces" - without drilling. However Icon cannot be used in cases of advanced decay. This applies, in particular, where the cavity has formed a hole in the tooth. In this case, traditional filling with a drill would be required. We are very impressed with this new treatment!
