Off to a loving new home in Oxford County....this lovely Sinar P 8x10 view camera. The "P" stands for "pretty"!! Matched with a Rodenstock 240mm lens, a stack of film holders and a handy 4x5 back: One camera = two formats. Love the flexibility of the Sinar system. The newly retired owner plans to spend the provincial lockdown shooting 8x10, building a darkroom and printing. Lucky bugger.
Wishing this pretty little Leica iiia (1935-50 with a 50mm Summar f2) all the best in her new home. LOVE to sell a photographer their first Leica!
Off to a loving new home: Super pretty early 80s ARCA SWISS 4x5 with a 180mm lens. Love selling someone their first LF camera. Enjoy and stay well Mai!
Finally a sunny day here in southern Ontario! Shooting a Hasselblad 503CW with a 60mm f3.5 lens. Ilford HP5 not for the needed speed, but as a lower contrast film in these bright conditions. Happy New Year from all of us at the London Vintage Camera Show!
Heads up for those in the Sudbury, Ontario area.
Cool video on the making of a Titan LF camera.
Snooping around the old WWII Veterans buildings behind Parkwood Hospital in London, Ontario, waiting for some good light. It's gorgeous back here. Shooting some 120 on a 1940s era Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta with a 105mm.
Sad news today, for the film community of Southern Ontario. We lost a damn good guy - Jim Wills of Burlington. He was an excellent camera dealer and we enjoyed his company very much. Honest, knowledgeable and friendly.
Good one! Thanks, West Yorkshire Cameras.
A message for any film loving friends in the Owen Sound, Ontario area. Go see Peter.
COMING SOON: Beloved London camera show dealer MAGGIE BRANNEN will have a vintage photo booth, starting Oct.1st, at Brydges Collectibles, 1255 Brydges St., just West of Highbury Ave., London Ontario. Be sure to pop by and check it out. Her Booth is #216. Enter the building and turn right towards the end and turn right again. Good luck Mag!
Thanks for the share Joe.
Juried Photography competition in KW. Open to all.
Happy World Photography Day!
Officially and sadly announcing what you've probably already assumed...there will be no London FALL Vintage Camera Show this year. We are extremely disappointed...kept hoping the circumstances would change in time to put on a great event this September/October...but now forced to conclude that we can't have a fun and safe show for everyone with the current Covid-19 pandemic safety protocols, social distancing guidelines and capacity limits for indoor events. Our goal is to have a Spring 2021 show if possible and practical. Really looking forward to the day our entire SWO Film community can be together again. We love putting on the show as much as you love attending. Until then, please know that we appreciate your continued support of the London Vintage Camera Show. Stay safe, be well and go shoot some film. ~ Maureen and Ron Tucker
Congrats to a good friend of the London Vintage Camera Show, Joshua Irwandi, for a haunting and unfortgettable image in the pages of August's National Geographic magazine. Well done!
News about the fire at Chicago's iconic CENTRAL CAMERA. Our favourite place to visit in the Windy City, just 8-10 hrs away by car from London.
Calling all aspiring documentary photographers and iPhone shutterbugs like myself....an opportunity to participate in making history. http://canadacovidportrait.ca and check also on Facebook and Instagram
Just felt like posting something pretty to look at. Classic Sinar P Large Format Camera for your self-isolating entertainment. Sitting on a extra nice, heavy duty Sinar 8x10 rear standard. Comes with an 8x10 back with bellows, a 4x5 back with bellows, a 4x5 wide-angle "bag style" bellows, two extension rails and a 240mm f5.6 Schneider slightly wide angle lens. That's the perfect lens for this, in our opinion. Optional but shown in photo: Nikkor 300mm f9 - a great normal lens, or a Schnieider Symmar 360mm f5.6 - a Linhof Select slightly longer normal/portrait lens in Mint shape. We miss our CAMERA BUDDIES!!
It's World WET PLATE Day! You can get involved.
Sigh. Happy "Woulda Been Camera Show" Day! Thinking of all of you this morning and missing your excited faces. We are off to SHOOT SOME FILM and hope you get the chance to do that too. We are working on a Fall 2020 date with the City. TBA soon. Until then, stay safe friends.
Asking for a local film lover who has just inherited his Grandparent's old DISC camera? The family are curious to see what's on it. Do you know anyone/any place that can develop disc film? Rumours of a place in California...?
