Hello from the Maternal Child Health Program. Unfortunately we are still on hold, and there doesnt seem to be any move in us coming back to "normal". I am in frequent contact with our Programming Resource team in Winnipeg, and the other MCH Coordinators, and as much as we try we cant come up with a way to do home visits.. that would deliver the program the way it should be and keep everyone safe. If you are pregnant or have children under 6..even if you arent a MCH pr...ogram family and have questions or concerns about your pregnancy, parenting or stress/problem solving/goal setting there are people, including myself who are available to talk to. Just send me a message on this page and I can either call or message you and see if i can help, or help you find the right Health Services staff member to connect with. Hope you are enjoying your summer and keeping you and your family safe----Melanie---

The Maternal Child Health program is still on hold due to the Public Health restrictions on COVID 19. We are not able to do home visits without gloves, masks and eyewear (which we dont have and this would also not provide a great relationship with mom/dad and children). We are not able to bring extra teaching materials or craft and supplies into the homes as they cannot be cleaned properly and we also cannot do group activities for the same reason. Jackie and I are missing ...our families and were hoping to meet so many more during the summer. BUT..that doesnt look like it is possible. We are planning to re-evaluate in September, and will follow the Public Health guidelines. In the meantime I hope to post information here regularly and if you have questions please leave me a message here or pm the page and I will get back to you a quick as I can. Missing you all, hope to be able to visit soon. ----Melanie----

I know we are all thinking about COVID-19, but please dont forget about your own health care or your childrens health care. Recommendations are to continue with immunizations , we dont want an outbreak of measles along with this. Contact Susan or Andrea at the Health Center.

I am sure everyone is getting a little tired of staying home, but there doesnt seem to be an end to this in the near future. Thought I would share these pictures from Dakota Ojibway Health Services with you. Staying home and social distancing not only helps to keep you safe it helps keep those we love safe too.
