As we are still pending approval from Council, we will not be collecting donations at this time. However, we are asking those who wish to donate to the splash pad - to please fill out this Donation Pledge Form. By completing this form, you are agreeing to donate to the Longlac Splash Pad Committee if this project is approved by Council. This will allow us to show Council at our next deputation, how much money we have raised through fundraising so far, as well as how much pledged donations we have secured. Please email or private message us your completed form, should you choose to donate. Thank you in advance for your generosity!

Longlac Splash Pad Project 30.08.2020

The community of Longlac, within the Municipality of Greenstone, has formed a Splash Pad Committee with the intent to build a splash pad in the town of Longlac, in hopes of creating a place that would draw families to our community, and provide a safe place for residents to enjoy themselves. Splash pads are a growing trend; they have interactive water features that vary from a simple mist to exciting waterfalls. The Splash Pad Committee made a deputation to Council on Septem...ber 9 2019 for approval of a splash pad in Longlac. Council did not approve or deny the splash pad at that meeting; however they did ask the committee to provide more details on cost and donation amounts so far. At this time, we are looking to fundraise a minimum of $150,000 for this splash pad project. A more accurate amount will be available once we have been able to assess the location with the Municipality to see what is needed, and size of land available, etc. The proposed location is at the Information Centre in Longlac. We can only achieve our goal through fundraising events and with the support of generous donations (monetary or in-kind) from members of our communities. A permanent recognition of our donors would be displayed at our future splash pad location. For those who wish to donate to the splash pad, please fill out the Donation Pledge Form which can be found under Timeline Photos on our Facebook page. By completing this form, you are agreeing to donate the specified amount and/or in-kind, to the Longlac Splash Pad Committee if this project is approved by Council. This will allow us to show Council at our next deputation, how much money we have raised through fundraising so far, as well as how much pledged donations we have secured. Once approved by Council, the committee will then follow up to collect donations; as well as apply for provincial and federal funding through grant applications for assistance. In the meantime, we have already started fundraising! We had a 50/50 draw at Moosecalac. The jackpot was $2018 - $1009 went to the winner Lisa Dumais. We are currently holding an online Tupperware party, which ends on March 16th. A link to this party is shared on this page. Please join if you wish to participate in the Tupperware fundraiser! We are in the process of planning of Prince and Princess Family Ball to be held in Longlac on May 3 2020. An event will be posted soon with details. Other fundraising events in mind, to name a few, are: Summerfest BBQ Fundraiser at the baseball field, Car Wash fundraiser, 19+ Halloween Dance, 19+ New Years Eve Dance, online Scentsy party, paint nights, and more! For more information, or if you have any questions, please feel free to send us a message. We thank you in advance for your generosity and commitment to the success of this project! There is still a long way to go and we cannot do it without your help! The Splash Pad Committee
