The College of Chiropractors of Ontario recommendation to suspend non-essential chiropractic services was consistent with the direction of the majority of other health regulators in Ontario, as well as the direction of other chiropractic regulators in Canada. The Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health has since released a directive to regulated health professionals or persons who operate a group practice of regulated health professionals, directing that all non-essential an...d elective services should be ceased or reduced to minimal levels, subject to allowable exceptions, until further notice. Allowable exceptions can be made for time sensitive circumstances to avert or avoid negative patient outcomes or to avert or avoid a situation that would have a direct impact on the safety of patients. In keeping with my regulatory College I will follow the directives of best practice for everyones safety. I will post updates as they become available. Migraine and tension-type headache each affect more than 10% of the world’s population, with chronic headache impacting 3-4% of adults worldwide. LBP is the most disabling condition on earth. So, are these two conditions associated with each other? Chronic headache and LBP are traditionally treated separately by experts in chronic pain management settings. This may be a less than ideal approach, especially for patients living with both conditions simultaneously. Chiropractors and other clinicians have noticed this association for years and help many patients by employing a full-spine/body approach to treatment! The purpose of this study was to systematically review the observational evidence available regarding the association between headache (primary and chronic) and persistent low back painwork like this helps to explain what many of us routinely see and do in practice!
