If it's an option, consider shoveling snow instead of salting. By clearing your driveway and sidewalk early in the day and letting the sun do the melting for you, less salt will be needed and less of it will end up in rivers and groundwater sources. #WinterWednesdays

Removing obstructions such as leaves and trash from storm drains can encourage better drainage and help stop the drains from freezing. Because some storm drains lead to lakes and rivers, never apply salt directly on them. #SourceWaterON #DrinkingWaterSources #WinterWednesdays
