GREAT GREAT AMAZING NEWS EVERYONE! The sweet kitty has been found....here is a message from the family.... Big big news everyone - Peridot has been found. He was caught in a trap in Search of food. My niece and the entire family are so happy! I am trying not to cry because I am so happy and relieved for my niece. ... I would like to thank everyone for their kind words, supportive encouraging words, thoughts and prayers and being our eyes and ears in the areas to look for my niece’s cat. It speaks to the power of hope and prayer and the kindness of Others. Thank you thank you from the bottom Of our hearts. Again, from us here at Loobies, I’d like to say thank you to all so very much for taking the time to read our post and for so many amazing people coming together to tackle this difficult task! This was definitely one of the best Christmas presents we have helped to give someone! This community is amazing and We are so proud to be apart of it! The woman that checked the trap and found the cat was Linda Smith and I will be giving her the well deserved certificate for $100! There was a sweet young girl here yesterday that drove all the way from Winnipeg MB and when she stopped here her cat managed to escape the car. He took off through the backyard of Loobies restaurant in Craighurst towards the Craighurst Pharmacy and field (2066 Horseshoe Valley Rd. Craighurst ON) She (Elizabeth) is absolutely devastated! It just broke my heart. She was out here for hours yesterday afternoon and e...vening, praying that he would show up. She was back this morning and is frantically searching. Please if anyone can help this poor girl, it would be greatly appreciated. Anyone that has owned and truly loved a pet would know how devastating this scenario would be! Please please take a look. The cats name is Perry, he is very skittish and is a grey and white Tabby. Mornin Everyone! So as y’all know we here at Loobies have been constantly weighing the option of wether or not to open? This weighs on us heavily as it tilts one way towards the responsibility for our community, staff, family & friends - their health and safety, and the other way towards our lively hood, business stability, employment & reputation? Obviously with the upcoming Winter season, business is going to be even tougher and this causes us to worry! We know that tak...e out isn’t the most ideal, we get that, but as I said we also feel a strong responsibility to our community, staff, family & friends in keeping them as safe as possible! Numbers keep on rising and with the potential shut down of the Toronto area this is concerning! We also have to consider the fact that our foot print in square footage would only allow at the most maybe 10 people? Financially does this make sense when we would still have to have at least 4-5 employees in? And if we don’t? Then there is the fact that if we don’t open? Will we survive the winter? Normally I look forward to overcoming these challenges and thinking creatively but it does make me stress too! So, I am asking your opinion here? What do you think we should do? My brain can’t take much more I swear....lol! Again taking the negativity or politics out of it, if u were a business owner, what would u do? How do u feel about this? We respect all opinions when they are coming from a good place and a kind heart. Thanks everyone! Pondering thoughts - ugh what to do?...lol

I know I know, people have questioned us many many times about this, and I must say, at times, have not been the nicest about it! But instead of focusing on the negatives, we are trying to turn it around and make it a different kind of experience. So, Gather your families & your pals, dress in your warmest cold w...eather gear, bring a blanket, snuggle up at a table and enjoy a hot meal or beverage! After all it is casserole, chili & soup season! May I remind you that all of ours are HOMEMADE! That’s right, from scratch! We also have delicious coffee, tea, herbal teas, hot chocolate and hot apple cider. Oh, and Thanksgiving is upon us as well! We all have soooo much to truly be thankful for this year, I am sure!! This year you can pre-order our Thanksgiving dinners up to Wednesday October 7th for pick up Friday or Saturday. We will be closed Sunday & Monday. For anyone to think that we have stayed this way because WE WANT TO is delusional! We would absolutely LOVE to get back to our NORMAL!. But really, what is normal now? We are continuing to take every precaution to stay open & safe amongst so much uncertainty in the best way that WE feel is possible! Anyone that knows us, would also know that based on our square footage, the social distancing requirements would be near impossible to open for any more than 10-12 people. Plus we have so much to consider with our elderly and immune deficient patrons as well as staff and families. The balance financially, or safely just doesn’t make sense. We hate this pandemic!! We hate what it’s doing to us all economically, financially, politically and health wise. This has nothing to do with politics for us! It has everything to do with human compassion. What happened to Human Compassion? No matter what we all believe, what side of this that we are all on, the truth of the matter is that it IS out there! We just don’t understand the need to want to minimalize so many peoples suffering? Please just stay kind! Some of the hardest hit businesses to date, have been restaurants and we are just trying to survive like so many! We plan to be here for u all winter still serving our delicious meals, homemade soups, and amazing homemade desserts. It may be in a way that is different but the food will continue to be the same.
