This cat was so mean she growled at me. Usually animals love me but this one just wouldn't let me near her. She didn't move much because she is so fat but lucky for me she brought me another bronze. <3

This is about you! I was reminiscing about a post I wrote when Anton wanted to get a haircut even though he never left the house because of the pandemic. I on the other hand was wearing the same clothes, my morning routine was to put on something comfortable and I never bothered to put on make up or did my hair because I joked that "the chickens don't care". I wasn't exactly the perfect example of a mom who was taking care of herself, because nobody cared, nobody came to see ...it. Doesn't that sound sad? He reminded me that self care is not for showing it to others. We should take care of ourselves even when nobody cares and nobody sees it because it makes us feel good. So I got myself a makeover and a photoshoot to see that I am still alive and fabulous. I wanted to know how it felt, if I still had blood flowing in my veins. I really enjoyed someone else putting on my makeup and fixing my hair, and the family appreciated that for one day I didn't care for the house chores and the dust on the floor. I realize this is crazy. I am sure I am not the only mom over 50 who feels the need to put herself last. Just because we don't leave home, it doesn't mean we shouldn't practice self care. We should put ourselves first (at least some of the time) and go all out and treat ourselves just because, for no reason at all, but to feel vigorous and happy. But this is not about me! I know family comes first but for once, - or once in a while - step forward, pick you and celebrate you, the mom Godess who you really are. Get yourself a makeover and a celebrity style photoshoot with me and see how I see you. There is no prerequisite to look like a model or to be photogenic. It's my job to bring out your beauty. I love this! Let me show how I see you! These are my pictures. It just took some makeup, a curling iron and I dug out my tops that I never wear anymore because "the chickens don't care how I look", but I still care.

I have placed my ego aside by submitting my photos for jurying. It is a great feeling to be accepted in this highly competitive field, but not everyone can get in an open gallery. Not being selected can also be disappointing. It does not mean that my photos do not have value. I believe in my photos and the value that I provide, otherwise I wouldn't be looking for ways to share them with others. Thank you for following my journey. An average score is taken from those 5 masters and applied to the image. The top score in the category wins a prize. 11287 entries were submitted from all over the world. It's not about being first or last. It's about meeting an international professional standard. It's very exciting.
