A moment of silence for all the lil creatures who lost their lives in the fires of 2018.....
Hi everyone. Good news that the travel restrictions for Hartley Bay have been lifted. Please remember that the fire is still burning near by but now in control. If you are planning a trip to the area dont forget to support the local businesses who are struggling due to the fires. Hope to see all of our friends and neighbours soon!
So happy and thankful to the crews who continue to fight this fire. Travel restrictions lifted but the fire is still burning. Stay safe all!!!
Travel ban still in effect but things are starting to look up:)
Some interesting information on the forest fires. Appreciative as always to the crews and support staff working all of the fires.
Sounds a little more positive. Hopefully they can get this fire under control soon and we can all get in to check on our properties. Much appreciation to the crews fighting these forrest fires. Have a safe long weekend all!
Some good information on the fire. It has held at the Pickeral River for the last couple of days.
Here is todays CTV news report. Our camps at Hartley Bay still ok but the fire is inching closer.
Our Campbellville amphitheater in our back yard. What a treat having Roger play.
Look who is visiting the officers stationed at the road block on Hartley Bay rd! Glad to see our little friend is ok!
Just a quick update on the forest fire. Our camp and our neighbours are all ok at this point as far as we know. The fire is still burning close by. There are gr...ounds crews, helicopters and water bombers all working to get it under control. The evacuation order remains in effect and will likely stay in place for several more days. Once we are able to access our property again, I will give an update. See more
Just a quick update to our friends and family from Hartley Bay Marina, After a successful evacuation of the Western Portion of the Provincial Park - we are cl...osed until further notice - until the mandatory evacuation is lifted and the Provincial Park is reopened. Check on the French River Provincial Park website for updates. https://www.ontarioparks.com/park/frenchriver I would like to personally thank everyone who had to evacuate and for doing so in a prompt and efficient manner. And for those planning on visiting The French River, please bear with us as a timeline for business as normal is not yet available. Please check back with us - stay tuned to our Facebook page and eNewsletter for further information as it develops. And also a huge thanks to Parks Ontario, OPP, MNRF and everyone who helped make sure we all made it out safely. For those who have upcoming reservations - please call me at our office for further details: 705-857-2038. Hopefully this is all resolved soon. The OPP have established a 24 x 7 roadblock at our end of Hartley Bay Marina, and are onsite 24 x 7 turning people away. There is currently no access to Hartley Bay or any properties down river from us. Thanks to everyone for your continued support during this difficult time. Sincerely, James Palmer
Hi All. For any renters heading to Lookout Point in the next few weeks, please watch for updates. We had to evacuate the camp yesterday because of forest fires. As far as we know everything is still fine but we will certainly be in touch if that changes.
