Update: Nighttime paving will take place on Thursday Oct. 22, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., and on Friday, Oct. 23 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. noon. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Traffic signals will also be shut down at the intersections of Merrimac Drive and the Canadian Tire store entrance. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct motorists, cyclists and pedestrians around the work site as needed. Public Service Announcement Forest Hills Parkw...ay Nighttime Road Construction Thursday, Oct. 8, 2020 (Halifax, NS) The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that nighttime road construction will take place on Forest Hills Parkway, between Chameau Crescent and Cole Harbour Road, from Sunday, Oct. 11 to Sunday, Oct. 25. Crews will be onsite from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. each day. The contractor for this project has been granted a Noise By-law exemption to complete this work. Lane drops, with occasional stop-and-go traffic, will be maintained while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. Your patience is appreciated while this work is completed. Construction During COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures, however, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to provide at least two metres of physical distancing.
