I would like to introduce you to Kimberly Dyer, who will be taking over my classes in January. After 31 years teaching, I am retiring. Kimberly will be continuing the classes as I have done with small numbers, each student choosing their projects, etc. She will have all the Covid protocols in place that I have successfully used. I have had a wonderful career, made many friends, and will miss you all very much. We plan to downsize and move to Nova Scotia to be near our daughter and her family. This step isn’t easy, I love you all so much! I am pleased, however, that you will still be able to create your masterpieces with Kimberly. You’re all going to love her!
Happy Labour Day to all my art buddies! I will be contacting my students next week regarding class start up in a few weeks. I little later than usual, but I’m isolating from a great time away with family. Masks will be mandatory, and I’ll be sanitizing between classes. This went well in June and July, and I have confidence in a safe environment for us all. New students welcome!
Great news! Fraser Health has given me the green light to teach art again! Starting June 1st, I will be teaching for three weeks, and then seven weeks in the summer starting July 7th. Classes will remain small, and I will be disinfecting chairs, brushes, etc. between classes. I’ve bought pencils and erasers for each student to be kept in a zip lock bag. We will wear masks, I can supply one if necessary. Art is therapeutic, and I welcome my regulars back, as well as new students. I will try to create groups of friends and family together as much as possible. Morning classes, afternoon and evenings available. Please contact me for more information.
A challenge for this week. Inspired by How To Train Your Dragon, you can create your own dragon based on one or more animals. Mine is a rat like dragon.
Your challenge for this week - make a fun picture based on a masterpiece.
Painting on rocks! They can be small or larger, use acrylic paint. You can do animals, flowers, even just pretty colours and designs. Show me what you make, artists!
Welcome to my first weekly art challenge! Howard and I recently returned from our Hawaiian vacation celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary. I’m inviting my students, former students and all other Facebook friends to join in and post your sunset creations. I used chalk pastels, but you use watercolours, acrylics and crayons to do a palm tree silhouette sunset. You can put anything into it, a dinosaur if you like! Make it personal! Share your art with me.
