As an organization, we are saddened and angered by recent anti-Asian racism in the U.S., including the murder of eight people in Atlanta. Our heart goes out to ...those affected, their families and communities. And while this senseless act didn’t happen in our country, the disturbing reality is that crimes against the Asian community in Canada are rising, up 700 per cent in some regions. The data also shows that Asian women are being disproportionately impacted by these incidents of verbal abuse, harassment and/or violence. Hatred and violence of any kind diminishes us all and has no place in Canada. Asian-Canadians have played an instrumental role in building this country and continue to be an integral part, helping to make our nation a dynamic, and culturally diverse mosaic. IGM Financial stands with our Asian employees, field members, vendors, and clients and does not condone racism, discrimination, or acts of violence of any kind.
