The overall aerial view of construction projects, planning, and environmental issues is best understood from the aerial view. Low altitude aerial photographs can be obtained with UAV's for altitudes up to 400' above the ground, and there are many restrictions in built-up areas. This is the legal maximum altitude for drones in Canada, and they cannot be used within 5.6 km of an airport. Above this altitude airplanes and helicopters are still the best and most cost-effective way to capture the best aerial views.
