We LOVE trying new coffee. Today we're sampling a few tasty offerings from Peru and a new one from Ethiopia. We try new coffee in a variety of brew methods to ensure quality and note subtle differences based on extraction method. We're currently on the hunt for our next single origin coffee as our supply of "Clipper to Rio - Brazilian Peaberry" is running low. We're travelling to Africa next for our next stop on the world tour of coffee! We've tasted samples from Tanzania and Kenya as well as this delicious Ethiopian !

Contest time Shoutout a local business you want to support in the comments below, tag them and say your favourite item or dish they have, not limited to our community but anywhere. We'll pick a random answer and send you a bag of coffee! Contest closes Sunday April 4th at 8pm! With lockdown 3...or 4? Coming down the pipe we felt it's a good time to shoutout local businesses and ask everyone when you can, where you can to #supportlocal We've been fortunate to design a smal...l business from the ground up with the pandemic reality factored in but many friends in the #guelph and broader #519 community have been struggling. Any this is not unique to our neighbourhood. We've done our best to source everything we can from local suppliers from our hats, shirts, awesome mugs and even our coffee. In the coming weeks we'll be spending some hard earned cash in our favourite restaurants and other establishments and we wanted to shout out a few of them (we can't name them all sadly!) some of them include - @roundtableguelph @park.grocery @sugoguelph @the_daily_grind_519 @cavancoffeeco @royalcitybrew @elorabrewingcompany @thefriendlysocietyelora @fixed_gear_brewing @piattoguelph @lareina_519 @the_fat_duck @tattoosbytristan @klee_tattoos

For immediate release - April 1 2021 Lost Aviator Coffee Company is pleased to announce their innovative new expansion plans with the acquisition of a 1943 C-47 Dakota. "With this new airborne element to our business we plan to take coffee roasting to new heights!" said Lost Aviator Founder Steve Zago. ... His co-founder Adam Wright added "With the addition of this beautiful aircraft we'll be able to serve our customers with the freshest pot of coffee on the planet" Plans are underway to remove the former military Cargo plane turned airliner turned cargo plane's interior and update it to its new job. Airborne roasting and coffee delivery. "Adding the coffee roaster was the real challenge as was sourcing the small parachutes for our packages, initially we thought of using the heat off the engines but the smell of oil and burnt avgas does not impart a pleasant taste into coffee - we know, we tried" said Wright After settling on adapting their current Artisan 3e roaster to the airborne platform they had to contend with the next hurtle, electrical power. "The C-47 produces enough electricity to feed the artisan via it's engine driven generator at full power, so as an added bonus we'll do everything airborne. At 100 US gallons per hour fuel burn this will add some cost but we feel our customers will understand why their bag of coffee is now $86.25 " Said Zago. Wright added "Really you're buying a peice of history, this C-47 was brought on strength into the RCAF in 1943, it brought supplies into Sicily, dropped paratroopers into Normandy, participated in the Berlin airlift and then became an airliner in northern Ontario before becoming a cargo plane. We found it in a field and thought - what the hell! Fortunes are always made in Aviation let's buy it!" "Yes, after supporting freedom and the North this aircraft can finally be put to a true good use....roasting coffee for a few out of work pilots who miss flying and dropping small boxes to their customers" There are plans to hire some crew for this endeavour, prior experience as a coffee roaster with 10,000 hours multi engine pilot in command time, and a space shuttle landing are nessesary.
