Lost 'n Found Yoga 02.02.2021

Hi everyone! Well, our case numbers both across Ontario and locally in Niagara have continued to trend downward since Monday's announcement about transitioning Niagara (and most other regions in Ontario) back to the colour-coded system for Ontario's COVID-19 Response Framework. This increases our confidence that Niagara will likely end up in the Red Zone as of Tuesday, February 16, meaning we will be able to open again for in-studio classes! In optimistic anticipation, we hav...Continue reading

Celebrating our very last class of 2020! It’s fitting that in a year that has had us connecting in ways we never thought we would before, our last class is a virtual class. This year we have all grown stronger under the pressures that have challenged us, and we have grown more flexible as circumstances beyond our control have stretched us. What a perfect analogy for how our yoga practice changes us for the better, even (no, especially) when we are challenged to do more than we thought was possible. Happy New Year everyone! See you in 2021!!

This special candlelight Christmas Eve Advent Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra class will be a Gratitude Class, all donations going toward supporting the ALIGN Program. The winter months are an ideal time for rest and introspection. Yoga Nidra, paired with restorative yoga, are the perfect means for achieving both. Come and enjoy these Restorative and Nidra classes to carry us from winter to spring. During Nidra, our brainwaves slow down to the pace we experience when we are dre...aming. It's no wonder, then, that participants frequently fall asleep-- our bodies aren't used to being awake when the mind is this still! A regular Nidra practice will enable you to enjoy the benefits of a calmer mind and to carry these blissful states into your waking life. What is restorative yoga? Restorative yoga allows you to enjoy the benefits of postures without the muscular effort. Supported by props, participants hold poses for time, sometimes upwards of ten minutes. The combination of time and breath in a pose, allows the body to switch on its innate healing processes. In a nutshell, restorative yoga is deep, meaningful rest. What is Yoga Nidra? Part restorative yoga, part led-meditation, Yoga Nidra has participants resting in a comfortable Savasana while being led progressively deeper toward relaxation. As the body rests, the mind is offered different anchors for awareness: visualizations, imaginations, points of focus etc. With kind guidance, the mind has the opportunity to shed some stress and reset patterns of thinking from negative to positive. These classes are accessible and suitable for all levels. Pregnant ladies are welcome! Investment: donations welcome Date: Christmas Eve, Thursday December 24 2020 Time: 9:30-11:00am
