LOVE How do we best manifest love for ourselves or for others? Sometimes small random acts of kindness are enough to add joy and happiness to someone who’s void of but nevertheless deserving of love, compassion and affection. On my early morning coffee walk today, a windblown hand written letter pressed up to a building caught my attention. As I read the letter I quickly realized that this love letter was intended for the person living in a tent that I had just passe...d. I sincerely hope that Sheri and Kevin are able to come together and share their mutual love.and maybe just maybe with the combined strength of their hearts they will be able to prosper and build a safe and loving home together. @ Downtown Toronto

This was me at a few months old with my dad, a Holocaust survivor, an Auschwitz survivor. While he’s sadly no longer with us, his gentle nature, kindness and empathy towards others is never forgotten. Despite the horrors he experienced as a teen. He never gave up hope!! A year like no other that is for sure!! We have all experienced loss this past year in many different forms. Through no ones fault many personal and professional hardships exist. Yet so many amazing stories of pivots, changes and new amazing transformations are being shared. This year I am grateful for my health and the good health of those I love. I am grateful to be part of the fitness community that has shown it’s resilience despite all of its obstacles. I’m grateful to ...all of the coaches and trainers that work tirelessly to keep our communities healthy Let’s all bring in this new year with a heightened sense of collective joy and energy directed towards wiping out this virus I wish everyone the happiest and healthiest new year ever

Today is International kindness day and I write this post with a mixture of joy and sadness. In 2014 I walked into a small yoga studio in Leaside (Toronto suburb), Power Yoga Canada. My life was forever changed for the better!! Thank you to Laura Fraser for kicking my ass and for opening my eyes to hot power yoga. I am forever grateful ... I’m sad over hearing the news that this small but energetic studio, this business, this sanctuary too so many is closing because of Covid. In 2015 my late wife Renee was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. During her illness I took just 1 hour out of each day to do something just for me and that was yoga. Through my yoga practice I stayed fit and strong and was ready to be the best caregiver that I could be. Following Renees short but heroic battle with cancer, this yoga studio became my sanctuary. At a time when I was grieving and felt most vulnerable, this studio and the community of incredible teachers and members became my lifeline, my family. I would like to send out my love and gratitude to every teacher, student and friend that held space for me when I needed it the most. I am truly grateful to all of you. You taught me to find strength through softness, power without force and to embrace vulnerability in order to PRESS ON . This was a magical place filled with magical people whose only agenda was to share health, compassion and KINDNESS!! @ Power Yoga Canada Leaside
