Thanks to a generous grant from the Pilot Mound and District Foundation we were able to purchase everything you need to start a podcast, a vlog, record family events or create any other audio or video project you can think of! The gear includes a Yeti mic, a boom arm and pop filter, a Dell laptop with Audacity software installed , studio headphones and a Sony handicam. We also have the books: So You Want to Start a Podcast by Kristen Meinzer and The Vlogger’s Handbook by Sha...ne Birley and Audrey Malo. The latter is geared towards youth and adults. If you’re looking to record some milestones for grandma, a wedding to share with distant relatives, some short videos to upload to your Instagram page, a podcast or anything else you can think of, we’ve got you! Items may be taken out as a kit or may be taken out individually by patrons. Big thanks to PMDF for their generous support of this project!

Hi folks! Did you know we have an extensive local and Manitoba history section? It’s always being added to by ardent locals near and far. Some recent additions include Lily in the Loft by Carol MacKay. This is a book for young readers about a girl named Frances who is encouraged to submit a poem to The Western Producer’s Young Co-operators’ Club, a section of the newspaper for young writers that ran from 1927 to 1994. Recently, we also had a book called Blizzards and Bedpa...ns sent to us by Shirley Gardiner, about growing up in Crystal City in the 1940’s. Our Local History section includes diverse sub-topics including Mennonite history, women’s history, resource history, ghost stories and history specific to our immediate area. Many of these titles would be useful for homeschooling curriculum or those taking up genealogy. Note that some titles are old, rare, or otherwise only for study in the library. But many can be loaned out also! Just ask! New Releases Fiction Caroline Adderson A Russian Sister Evie Wyld The Bass Rock Hester Fox The Orphan of Cemetery Hill J. Happy November! We're starting off the month with some gorgeous sunshine and, unfortunately, some new restrictions. Starting today masks will be mandatory inside the library per provincial requirements for us to stay open. We're also required to do "contact tracing", which means that your friendly and diligent librarian will be recording your name and time in/out. This is, again, in accordance with provincial requirements and is intended to make it easier to track community v...iral transmission should this begin to occur in our communities. This won't be shared with anyone unless required due to a local viral outbreak. We're also lowering our numbers to allow for 3 patrons in the library at a time. Don't forget that if you're uncomfortable coming in to the library, or are unable to for any reason, we have curbside pick up available anytime! Please don't hesitate to message, call or email with any questions, concerns, or to request curbside pick up. <3
