Looking forward to being back with the great folks at Ipperwash Beach Club this Friday and Saturday night November 22 & 23. Warm up with some great food and great music.

I caught The Lounge Lizards matinee show at the Lake Point Grillhouse & Lounge and they were great. The trio of guitarist Rick Powell and singers Cheryl Moore M...cFarlane and Cathy Landeryou have become either the best, or one of the best vocal ensembles playing in the area right now. The bond between Cheryl and Cathy is so intuitive they seem to function as one mind. Both are stellar lead singers as well. With Rick playing the guitar and setting the instrumental parts in place they've matured into a finely polished group. Among the highlights: Cathy delivered a performance of 'New York, New York' that was strong enough to suggest the song can become a staple for her. Cheryl gave excellent renditions of 'Angel From Montgomery' and 'Tennessee Waltz'. Rick delivered a fine interpretation of 'The Thrill Is Gone' and Cathy closed their show with a soaring version of 'Hallelujah'. Their harmony singing was sublime. The food and the service at the Lake Point Grillhouse & Lounge was first rate as usual. (They even supplied frosted glasses so the temperature of the beer would be righteous. Simple touches like that count). It was a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
