Sparkling Vanilla Bean soaps got a bit of a different look this year and an added touch of biodegradable glitter (because hello, holidays), but the scent is still the same one you love! I started making soap totally selfishly, in an attempt to get rid of the hives and itchiness I dealt with every day - when it worked I was hooked, and Ive never gone back to the other soap (except that one time I was stuck over night in a hotel without my travel kit and had to use their stuff...oh man). Turns out Im allergic to (and so are many others) to SLS - a cheap and super bubbly ingredient used in everything from toothpaste to body wash. I worked years to get my recipes nailed down that were nourishing, biodegradable and BUBBLY, without a single synthetic detergent. Current obsession. Usually I only use the things that are dented or fallen on the floor, but I made SURE I had a stash of Soft Cashmere - what a weirdly clumsy day that was Just as its name implies, it has soft notes of delicate freesia blossoms, creamy cashmere, delicate violet and a touch of powdered white amber. Its soft and light and sure to make you want to cuddle up. Shop is open 10-5 today and its Friday!!!

Its bath bomb wrapping day today! Not as fun as the actual bath bomb making day but a necessary step in getting you your bath bombs, especially when its humid out! We use biodegradable film to wrap our bath bombs, meaning that after you use your tub treats that little piece of plastic wont outlast all of us - it will naturally biodegrade in the sunshine and rain with the help of the bacteria found all around us! (Pssst: this also means bath bombs are getting restocked soon! )

Theyre a teensy little detail in your bar of soap, along with bevelling edges, that you most likely dont always notice, but give a bar that special touch. Its the first thing that says oh hi hello! when you open up a new one. This one is Pink Mint, a bar featuring tingly spearmint and peppermint essential oils, French pink clay, and topped with a few peppermint leaves

Have you ever seen the Northern Lights? We remade Aurora Borealis this week and the tops were probably my favourite ever of this type gorgeous bold streaks of blue, purple and greens. Have a fantastic long weekend my loves!

Soap tops are all about the details! This swirl of red, orange, yellow, and green was one of the first swirls I ever did back in 2012 and is still one of my favourites today. This is the top of our Apple Honey Champagne soaps, a fresh and clean scent of tart green apples, sweetened by soft honey and a touch of effervescent champagne bubbles. This scent is also great in our shampoo and conditioner bars! Shop is open 10-5 today! Stay cozy and dry today friends!

A big part of making soap is knowing how it will change and develop as it cures over 4-6 weeks after its made. These Spiced Apple Pie soap bars had a hefty amount of vanilla in them (the main ingredient responsible for browning in soap), so I had to keep that in mind while making it. I kept the pie crust on top unscented and added a touch of iron oxide, while the body I left uncoloured and fully scented, with chunks of (earlier made) beige soap to add the apple chunks. Poolside Punch is now on shelves and in the shop 10-5 today! Bright, juicy red fruit punch in a dewy glass in your hand, while you float around the pool in your floatie, skin warmed by the sun. Notes of sugared strawberry, bright pineapple nectar and sparkling citrus, and touches of red cherry and a bare touch of cola make this bar a fruity stunner! Topped with biodegradable glitter to reflect the look of water glistening in the sun.

Sanitizer has become a part of our daily lives, helping to keep us safe while we slowly return to normal, but its also been in the news a whole lot with Health Canada recalling the sanitizer from certain companies. Our sanitizer uses Pharmaceutical grade alcohol- the highest and purest grade available, so you can feel safe using it on yourself and your loved ones. Sanitizers getting recalled are those using technical grade alcohol - alcohol used to clean electronics and i...n manufacturing, and not meant to be touched by human skin as it contains contaminants which can really hurt you, causing birth defects, skin irritation, and even cancers. Luckily Health Canada has a page on their website which allows you to search for your sanitizer to see if its been recalled or not (link in our stories to check yours!), and even to search for the sanitizers that are available when youre out and about.
