I’m a little bit late-but hello April! I have been fully embracing every rainfall, sprouting plant and even the mud on the bottom of my shoes because, as spring begins to bloom, a lot of other things in my life have been blooming as well. I haven’t introduced myself in a while so it seems like high-time for an introduction (or reintroduction, if you’ve been following me ). My name is Emma and I’m a Hamilton native with a passion for small business and all things creative After being let go in March of 2020 and floundering for a few months (in the uncertainty of joblessness and a global pandemic), I started to think about all of the small businesses who had been suffering. ... An eye opening walk downtown, where I discovered many of my favourite establishments had closed, cemented it in my brain- I had to do something. I wanted to use a platform to speak out in support, but I didn’t have one. So I got to work. I added a sprinkle of everything that I loved and mixed it together to create lovelylittlelocal- a local’s guide to lovely little shops in Ontario (and occasionally beyond). Since then, I’ve been able to shine a light on countless sustainable and local brands looking for support and exposure. I’ve had the opportunity to create and collaborate with so many incredible people who inspire me, motivate me and educate me. And I’m not done growing!
