LLHL PART 2. There were days I was absolutely loving it , being back. But then the exhaustion set in . The long days and single appointments all the extensive cleaning all the phone calls . I felt like people were taking pieces of me. I had never felt like this . All the talking, all the opinions on covid . What was right what was wrong what people thought other people should be doing.... I hated it , there I said it I hated my job! Covid had made me hate what I loved! By th...e end of August I wasn’t me anymore! Once September hit I was finally catching up, it had taken me working full time hours and some overtime to finally catch up! And slowly but surely it happened I started loving my job again, life felt somewhat normal. But nomatter what I did I could feel it , this nagging feeling that wouldn’t go away. So here we are, it’s Christmas, it’s been a whole year. How has this been a whole year? What even happened in this year. I recently read about how this year no matter what was good, that it helped us grow. All I could think was how? How did this terrible pandemic help me? Well I’ve had time to reflect and I guess with reluctance it did. It made me realize it doesn’t matter what I think or feel I’m not always right even though I want to be. That I can’t control everything. I do have my beliefs and that is ok . That you can be kind no matter what. I have always felt this way! I realize I did grow because how couldn’t you in a year like this. Take one day at a time, and someone out there has it way worse then you. That I’m lucky , I’m lucky to have all of you! I’m lucky I had people knocking down my door to see me ! That’s the best part, I opened this being nervous to realizing I had no reason! That this was the most amazing decision I could have made in 2019! That although the pandemic did affect me it didn’t and couldn’t take my business away from me! Although it shut me down and is again, my business will always be here. My people that are like family and friends will always be there! So thank you everyone, from the bottom of my heart! LLHL STORY PART 1. Last day of work of 2020. But what was 2020 even? It’s been a year since I opened here in my home, and its definitely been year , hasn’t it? When I decided to walk away from my job in 2019 to be on my own I was looking to make my life simpler, I needed more time for my family, my children..... insert laughter boy was I wrong! I went from being steady to this thing , this thing that I have been doing for 18 years to it becoming huge! Like the best kept secre...t that only few new about. Only a few turning into new clients becoming a regular thing in 2020! Every week I was averaging 2-3 new clients and it just kept coming ! I was actually toying with the idea of not taking anymore! Saying I had a full clientele. What was this, I had heard things about hairstylists saying they were full, but me ? How do I turn people away? January, February and into early March was the busiest I had been in years! Every time I had another child I had to cut back but 2020 I had no excuses any more. But then the biggest excuse came, a pandemic. A excuse I had no control over. I know I’m not a brick and mortar , but I had renovated heavily to creat this space and now to just be shut down! I wasn’t ready I was in shock for sure. I wasn’t the only one! Little did we all know that it would be months before I could open again! When I finally could I was so excited. Calls and messages came rolling in! I was making room for everyone I could! And then somehow I actually even took more on, I’m not sure how but I did. But then it came to a head and I realized it was out of control insert laughter! I mean how amazing was this ? If I had literally taken the time to write down how many I turned away it would blow your mind! Everyone was looking for a hairstylist, I had my regulars who had followed me all the years and all over the world and I had new and then I had old clients reaching out! In one day I had turned eight people away, that was just one day that wasn’t every day before or after! I literally say I could have filled a whole other clientele if I had someone else working for me! I mean that’s cool and lucky right? See more

I’m sure you all know that as of the 26 th I will be shut down again! As I want everyone to be safe I am not all to happy about this! But it is what it is and I will reach out to everyone next week after Christmas to hopefully reschedule the 28 days out . That would mean anyone from January 26 th will be safe! Let’s cross our fingers and toes that that’s all it is this time but I’m not holding my breath! Good morning everyone I want to let you know going forward that if needed the Brant county health board had given go ahead to piggyback clients and social distance within the salon. Some bookings will still be single but others will be double booked to insure I can services and accommodate my clients needs! We will all wear masks at this time as well as I will clean the chairs after each person moves. You are welcome to sit on my green couch or chair while waiting or sit on m...y deck during the warm seasons. If you are at all uncomfortable during this time you are also welcome to sit in your vehicle while waiting. I thank you for your understanding as for the last 2 1/2 m I have been running of my feet to get everyone in and I cannot keep that pace up long term so double booking gets more people in in shorter hours so that way I can have less 12 hr days and be with my family and also take some me time if needed.
