If you've been considering investing in home organizing, read this article. I've included one of the closing comments below... "Hiring a home organizer was certainly an investment both financially and time-wise. But the outcome of the experience was worth so much more than the dollars and minutes I spent changing my environment."

Sharing with you my top four ways to keep a tidy home. #1 Assign a home for ALL items that pass through your door Identify right away where the new item will live. Otherwise, the, I didn’t know where it went so I left it there, excuse has legs to stand on!... #2 Put items back in their assigned homes right after use It takes only a moment to return items to their home. That’s a whole lot simpler than leaving out all.the.things and having to take a large chunk of time to put everything back. #3 Purge! Purge! Purge! Purge! I cannot stress this enough. Not because I want you to give up everything but because we often keep things because we can’t be bothered to take the steps to action the pile out of our home. I’m telling you, this is the single biggest step you can take in making a tidy home. #4 Resist the temptation to over-buy See #1. All items you bring in must be assigned a home. Buying more than you need creates a back-log of available space that creates noise your brain registers and translates by increasing the levels of your stress hormone, cortisol. xo Mindy

I think most of us would love a forever Pinterest-worthy pantry with beautifully aligned and decanted pastas, rice, snacks and flours... But is the idea of a Pinterest-worthy pantry practical and maintainable? Yes! It is. In order for it to work though, you’ll need a system tailored to your family’s habits and lifestyle.... If you aren’t the type of person to take the time to pour food over into containers, be real with yourself and respond to your level of time and energy appropriately. Instead of decanting, source beautiful baskets and place categorized items, still in their packaging, directly into the corresponding category basket. And, choose products in the same or complementary colour and style to give you the polished look you’re drawn to while scrolling Pinterest. Where possible, remove food items from packaging to allow ease of access and to prevent the eye from stopping abruptly on out of place pops of colour. If you need help organizing or sourcing product, send me a DM :) xo Mindy

It gives me so much happiness to be typing out this post! We are over the moon to be booking new sessions before Christmas! In fact, last night I spoke with a repeat client I had worked with last year. She is looking for help getting her home ready for her adult kids to come over the holidays. Instead of coming home to a cluttered space in limbo they will be coming home to a newly planned out and organized family room complete with ping pong table. ... Contact us today to get your project done before the holidays!

The single most effective thing you can do to make your home easier to care for, is to declutter. For many, the editing piece is the most difficult. Some of the common roadblocks I hear are; Fear of making the wrong decision,... Fear of needing it after discarding, Regret around the money spent on it, Fear that the giver will be hurt that you discarded it. Recently I read Little Miss Lionheart put it this way; "If I made myself 100% take care of this item exactly as I’m supposed to (for clothes think wash, dry, fold, put awayalong with all the other clothes) every single day, would it be worth all the effort? If the answer is no, I get rid of it." That sort of reframes it, doesn't it? Reframed in this way, are there items you struggled to let go of in the past that you may be able to give up after reading this bit? Send me a DM and let me know! I really enjoy your feedback and find it helpful for future posts!

Those with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder are among those who have deficiencies in executive functioning. There are physiological differences in their brains preventing them from performing in the same way as those with a typical brain. As frustrating as it may be to interact with or be someone with such deficiencies, please try to understand that improvement or success will not come from trying harder. It will come from trying differently.... There are so many different strategies that can be implemented to support someone with ADHD in managing well, both at home and at work. If you're interested in learning more on managing adulthood with ADHD, I recommend this book by author and Institute for Challenging Disorganization course presenter, Ari Tuckman PsyD MBA. https://amzn.to/3fbZ8EE In addition to the resources out there, feel free to contact me at any time. I love talking about efficiency strategies for ADHD.
