The biggest part of our transformation for the center to date!! Our brfore , and our after photos!! A very special thank you to Angela Pitt for donating the cabinets, countertop and sink! Without her kindness this could not have happened!!

As we settle from an amazing "first day" at our new Calgary center, we would like to take this time to send a special thank you to all our friends , most especially Darlene Hein Hill , our designer and mentor, for the endless hours spent to work some magic! It's been an incredibly busy time settling into our new centre but we are all truly in love with our space ( video soon!) . We cannot express our excitement meeting our long term virtual friends and new friends in person...! We have almost exceeded our copacity one day in! ( don't worry, we have room to grow)! From the Loving Hands team, our sincere thank you for supporting our journey! May you all have a peaceful long weekend, time to reflect and relax. Monday starts our first full week with more new friends we have have yet to meet!!

As you may or may not know, Loving Hands was touched with the Corona Virus last week. Like many all too familiar stories, it was unknowing brought into the center by a positive individual . As you would expect, as soon as we received the covid positive news, we immediately shut the center down, followed AHS protocols, were in constant contact with our AHS health inspector, and had every client and and staff tested to ensure the spread was minimized. I am confident our ex...isting protocols and sanitization protocols were instrumental in our success containing the virus and am so very grateful to say, we had 100% success! The virus was not spread and all attending the center remained healthy and Covid free! We realize the importance of connection and inclusion to our demographic but realize the force and quick spread of this virus. Although we are not prepared to reopen at this time, putting our amazing Loving Hands family at risk, I am excited to announce that we will be facilitating most all of our classes virtually until such a time we are able to safely gather . Please stay tuned to register for our December programs roll out in coming days!! We've even arranged a special virtual visit with Santa in late December! Thank you for your continued support and we are looking at some exciting major changes to Loving Hands in the new year! Chris Nikic, YOU ARE AN IRONMAN! Congratulations Chris on becoming the first person with Down syndrome to finish an IRONMAN. Chris swam 2.4 miles, biked 112 mil...es and ran 26.2 miles. The everyday lives of people with intellectual disabilities are often unecessarily called inspirational. This though, this is inspirational!

Just a friendly reminder: with our Covid numbers increasing, our centre is not accessible to friends and visitors. Our primary goal is to ensure we are providing a safe space for our clients and staff always.
