Want to know what you can do with swiss chard? Participants at a recent Open Kitchen Outside learned this easy and tasty recipe by our own Chef Tibrata. Already can't wait to get this easily grown veggie in #YGK gardens during the growing season! #CommunityKitchens #GoodFood

McBurney Park has a new #CommunityGarden! On Oct 31, about 20 neighbours came out to help construct 4 large raised beds in the SE corner of the park for this communally managed demonstration/educational #garden. A big celebratory cheer for #community and #goodfood! (Photo credit: Martine Bresson) #YGK

Cooking in the Nest was recently featured in The Kingston Local! We're so very honoured to partner with Kingston Indigenous Languages Nest in this program, and very grateful for the chance to take it more "to the land" this fall. Chi miigwech and NyĆ”:wen to all who take part in promoting Indigenous language and culture around good food! #YGK #CommunityKitchens #ThankfulThursday

The pail was the size of Pooh Bear, and contained 75 lbs of beautiful pure raw Ontario honey from Island Gold on Amherst Island! Thank you Perry, Nina, Liam, Max & Mia for the generous donation. Thank you too @Laura-LeeWallace for volunteering to help us get every last drop into jars to share with community friends like meal providers, Community Kitchen Participants and the Kingston Indigenous Languages Nest. How sweet it is!! #GoodFood #Community #YGK

Last call for fresh food donations from your gardens! After Nov 18, Grow A Row will wrap up another growing season. So get your nutritious goodies to one of the locations listed here over these last few days! Our partner community agencies and meal programs who receive this good food would be so thankful! #GoodFood #Community #YGK

Especially as part of the Kingston community - where members of the military are our community partners, our colleagues, our friends, our family - we remember. And we are grateful to all those who have sacrificed tremendously for our freedom, and to those who continue to tirelessly serve to keep peace in the world. #LestWeForget #YGK (Photo credit: City News Toronto)

We're happy to be part of the upcoming Marketing for Good Charity Trade Show - a creative work-around by senior students of the Advertising & Marketing Communications program at St. Lawrence College who normally put on a trade show of local charities this time of year. Be sure to check out this virtual event! #YGK #Community

A BIG thank you to Pig & Olive Inc. Butcher Shop for the generous donation ($2,000 worth!) of in-house-made sausages, turkey burgers and chicken! The grateful recipients of this delicious food include our partner community meal programs, and as well as our own Community Kitchens programs, Open Kitchen Outside & Cooking in the Nest. #LocalLove #Community #YGK #GoodFood
