Over the summer the Lower Island Soccer Community lost a valued and deeply respected member of our community, David Ravenhill. LISA would like to pay tribute to David with a moment of silence prior to the start of all Full Field matches this weekend. Starting 11’s are requested to lineup around the centre circle prior to the start of play for to observe a moment of silence.

Here is an update from LISA on the current situation. The clubs and their technical staff are working with LISA to get ready to return to soccer, hopefully in September. We are closely following the guidelines from BC Soccer with regard to a return to play and we know that everyone is looking forward to getting back on the field. As we get closer to the start of soccer we would like to remind you that BC Soccer guidelines prohibit games of any kind at this time. We are gettin...g reports of unsanctioned pick up soccer games taking place in different areas of the city and we are now concerned with the increasing number of reports that we are receiving. We would like to ask you to think twice about taking part in these events as this may lead to an outbreak in our city. We have all seen what can happen when people make poor choices around COVID and we don’t want to see soccer be responsible for such an outbreak on the Island. We believe that it is our responsibility as a soccer community to follow the rules and be thoughtful members of the greater sporting community of Victoria. We all want to see organized sport again, so we ask you to stay away from any unsanctioned soccer activities until we get positive news from BC Soccer and the BC Government. See more

The Pacific FC organization is deeply saddened by the sudden passing of a local soccer legend, Dave Ravenhill. He was a dedicated family man, a brilliant player... of the game and an inspirational coach who touched so many throughout our community. As a teacher for more than 30 years at Reynolds High School, Ravenhill played a key role in the development of young players through the school’s soccer academy. . Ravenhill was one of the city’s best-known players; he made a name for himself with the UVic Vikes and local clubs such as Bays United, Gorge FC and UVic Alumni. He featured for the Victoria Vistas and played on the local all-stars team that played Chelsea, Dundee United and the Vancouver 86ers. . "Dave Ravenhill's passing is a huge loss, particularly to the teaching and soccer community. David was the consummate professional in the classroom and on and off the pitch. He was a mentor to so many students, players and coaches. His fitness and competitive level was legendary as displayed in the Canadian soccer league and VISL. He will be forever missed and never replaced." - Frank Woods, PFC Liaison and family friend of the Ravenhills. . ‘Raves’ was an integral piece of the soccer community on Vancouver Island and he will be greatly missed. We send our deepest condolences to the Ravenhill family during this time. See more
