With all the frequent hand washing and sanitizing going on these days, I often hear talk of dried out, raw, and even painful cracking skin. It could be your soap. Even with persistent use of hand sanitizer and frequent hand washing, I can honestly say that this hasn’t been a big problem to me or my family throughout this pandemic. Call me biased (I am!), but I credit it to our use of handcrafted natural soap. Commercial soap is often made with chemical detergents, hardeners ...and synthetic lathering agents. Some of these ingredients can be drying or irritating on the skin as well as extremely bad for the environment. On the other hand, natural handcrafted soap does not contain these harsh ingredients. It is just as effective as commercial soap, without being harmful to the earth and your skin. After switching to natural handcrafted soap you will probably notice your skin is softer and doesn’t dry out as easily, even with frequent hand washing. Also, if you take care of your natural bar soap by using a good draining soap dish, it will last a long time... weeks or even months depending on use! As we close up shop for the last time this year, I reflect back on this strange year that was halted so suddenly with a global pandemic and shadowed with uncertainty causing us all to reinvent the way we do almost everything. Back in March, I was ready to write this year off as a business and I never imagined I would be standing here today in our new retail store, humbled with gratitude at all the kindness, encouragement and support we have received from our customers, retailers and community.
