On behalf of everyone at Loyalist Township Emergency Services, we want to wish all a Merry Christmas and a safe and COVID free New Year. Please do not let your guard down over the holidays. Keep you and your family safe.
Santa Run will once again visit our area on Christmas Eve. Attached is the route map for Amherstview. In Bath & Odessa we will attempt to do all of the residential streets in both villages between 6 & 7 pm. For the safety of everyone, the trucks will not stop for any pictures and we ask that you limit any gathering to watch Santa to your own household. Merry Christmas to all from everyone at LTES
Reminder: The Loyalist Fire & Rescue Santa Run is happening tomorrow evening. Maintain distancing and watch for Santa Claus from the comfort of your own home as he travels throughout Loyalist Township on Christmas Eve! https://www.loyalist.ca/en/news/2020-santa-run.aspx
Loyalist Fire is proud to have had 3 of their own firefighters walk 27km in support of this fundraiser in memory of fallen firefighter is Canada and throughout the world. Great job, and thank you to everyone who donated.
Plan and practice your home escape plan. Fire Safety starts at home.
With cooler temperatures outside, make sure your heating system is in good working condition.

Today is the last day of Fire Prevention Week. Loyalist Township Emergency Services wants to share these highlighted safety tips to keep you from having a cooking fire. Never leave cooking food unattended. Stay in the kitchen while you are frying, grilling or broiling food. If you have to leave, even for a short time, turn off the stove. If you are simmering, baking, roasting, or boiling food, check it regularly. Remain in the home while food is cooking, and use a timer t...o remind you that you’re cooking. You have to be alert when cooking. You won’t be alert if you are sleepy, have taken medicine or drugs, or have consumed alcohol that makes you drowsy. Always keep an oven mitt and pan lid nearby when you’re cooking. If a small grease fire starts, slide the lid over the pan to smother the flame. Turn off the burner, and leave the pan covered until it is completely cool. Have a kid-free zone of at least 1 metre around the stove and areas where hot food or drink is prepared or carried. Thank-you for reading, watching and sharing our posts not just this past week but year round.
