*** UPDATED SCHEDULE *** We are happy to be able to finalise the LRKC Championship schedule for the season. Lots of events and cool stuff going on in 2021 Super excited to be able to offer not 6 but 7 races this season with the extra race being an out of town race with our friends at the Toronto Kart Club who will be joining us at our home track for a race like they did last year. ... In pink are the confirmed dates for August. It should be noted that with COVID still having a restrictive impact on our lives, this is still a tentative schedule and we will confirm each event with as much notice as we can through the season. Looking for track marshals and event helpers for the 2021 kart season at the Lombardy track just outside Smiths Falls. This is a volunteer position. All training provided. Must be available weekends. Marshals and volunteer t-shirts provided.... Join us at this non profit karting club and be apart of this fun, exciting and rewarding outdoors sport. No experience needed, an interest or experience in motor sports is an advantage. For those committed to the season and accepted as one of our club volunteers, you will be able to go for your first aid CPR certificate with our friends at Medics for Events. No charge! Average day starts at 8am and finishes from 3pm to 4pm with lunch and refreshment breaks. Perks - The chance to train to get an official ASQ Track Marshals license. Travel expenses paid up to $50 Lunch and beverages provided. Some in kart fun each event day you attend. Bonus perk - If you marshal or help out on all of the scheduled LRKC race for 2021 then you will be offered a free seat in the Volunteers race in the fall! Please provide us with some details about yourself and why you want to be involved with us. The position is open to all genders ages 16 and up. The schedule is posted on our facebook page. There are days where track maintenance needs to be done and a request to help will be put out in plenty of time for people to opt in but will not be mandatory.

It only took 3 days for more dates to land in the July and August months. Now we know what was being organised and it’s very cool! Two events for the Canadian Open! We also locked in one more date for the LRKC Championship in July! More to come and our final date for Race 5 to be confirmed!

Some exciting news while stuck in lockdown! With the season just a few months away our neighbouring championship Coupe de Montreal released the first dates of the season, this means we can put out our tentative championship dates! Looks like we will see some other news soon for the July and August months as those two were spared this year from the Coupe de Montreal schedule... very exciting! ... Well we’ve been waiting to get a break in the COVID situation so we could hold some sort of champions award event or banquet. If we wait any longer it’ll be Christmas lol. So here’s what we are going to do to crown our very first LRKC champions!... We will be contacting our champions shortly with times and dates to meet at Apex V2R to hand out the LRKC championship trophies. The champs will get some exclusive seat time in one of Apex V2Rs cool new sims driving a kart around the yet to be released LRKC track! That’s right! The LRKC track is coming to the sim world! We will also be handing out trophies to the LRKC driver of the year and Rookie of the year! The drivers will be contacted shortly and you will all get to see who they are when we post them picking up their trophies. Should be fun as we try to make the best out of these restricted times. Covid protocols are in place and masks are mandatory. Apex V2R has a strict sanitising regime to protect all. Guidelines on attending will be sent to all the trophy winners with their allotted time to turn up so as not to go over the number of people permitted on site at one time. The season may be over but the team at LRKC is busy! We are in development mode. Here’s what we are working on right now. - The Track -... Phase one, the new pit lanes, new grid and relocation of the pavilion. The architect is getting this part ready for the bidding stage. Phase two, track extension, the architect is getting this ready for the planning approval stage but focus is on Phase one to be ready for the 2021 season. - The Academy - We had a great turn out when we released the academy late in the season. This part of the clubs program is set to expand in a big way for the 2021 season. - Club and members development - Some huge effort is going into developing the club and promoting our sport. Several programs as well as the academy are in motion right now and will be released shortly. The 2020 season is officially closed as is the LRKC track. What a crazy year we’ve had with ever changing COVID-19 protocols effecting peoples regular lives and racing lives. We started the year with a mountain of work to be done at the track to bring it back up to standards. We were even cutting grass and landscaping in the snow! Well we just finished winterizing the track and it snowed again in the last 2-3 hours. Thankfully we got the two cracks in the track repaired and... sealed so the ice doesn’t get in there and make them worse plus a good tidy up and more landscaping ready for the spring. A huge thank you to all involved this season. We could not do this without the help and passion of the officials, marshals, Tyler Savage (EMS), the sponsors, Lombardy Fair, Auto Sport Québec and all the volunteers. THANK YOU! What a great weekend of testing, experimenting and racing! So much fun had this weekend on so many levels. Thank you to all that came out and joined us. 2020 has been anything but a normal season and just a short few months ago we wasn’t even sure we would get a season.... We set out with a simple goal in this unpredictable year which was to provide the racers and soon to be racers (academy driving students) a track and club that listens to the racers and from this provides the best grassroots events. We really are in the business of making smiles and memories with friends and family. We’d say mission accomplished! A huge thank you to our sponsors for the 2020 season. Your support this year under these unprecedented times was just amazing. A special thank you to Hart N Hart for donating the Race 6 trophies and the great swag work you did for our club! Enduro registration. Hi all, it’s almost time for the first LRKC enduro race! Here’s a few easy steps of what you need to do to race this weekend. ... Step 1 - Form your team or go it alone.... up to 4 drivers per team or if you’re brave you can run the race alone! Step 2 - Give your team a fun name! Example:- Team Never Lift, or The go fasters! Step 3 - Register your team with us via email. Send your team name and members names to [email protected]. Please Register by Wednesday so we can plan the schedule for race day. Still looking for a team or looking for drivers to join your team? Send us a message or post in the comments your requests. We will help you do this safely. Practice and kart set up day Saturday 3rd and race day Sunday 4th. We will run through track safety and flags on both days. Cool prizes up for grabs as well as some swag!

****BANQUET UPDATE**** With the social restrictions in place at the moment and not looking like they will be lifted by the BBQ banquet weekend (Saturday evening Oct 3rd) we have decided to postpone the banquet part of the weekend. The enduro WILL continue for practice and set up Saturday 3rd Oct, and race on Sunday 4th Oct, Updated Covid protocols for the enduro event will be posted shortly. ... The health of all participants and the community is very important to us and though we are still permitted to hold a championship award banquet we feel the social aspect of a banquet does not fit the restrictions in place and would be wrong to have it at this time. We will update you all once we know what is the best and safest way we can celebrate and crown our 2020 champions in the right social or virtual setting. #bettersafethansorry
