The Louis Riel Vocational College would like to take this opportunity to wish our Matriarch, Director, mentor, colleague and FRIEND Sharon Varga all the best in her retirement. Sharon has been in post secondary education for over 25 years and has been our Director since the LRVC opened in 2013. Those who have had the opportunity to work with her are certainly aware of the strength, tenacity and dedication she had for each and every student who attended this institution. S...haron has always been a career builder for her staff. She mentored many staff over the years challenging them to become not only better at what they do, but to be better for who they do it for, "our students". Although today is a sad day for the faculty and staff here at the LRVC, we are eternally grateful for Sharon's hard work and dedication in providing solid leadership, and guidance to each and every student and staff member over the years. While we will all miss her here, we are very happy that she can now retire and enjoy her new life of rest and relaxation. Best wishes and congratulations Sharon on a job well done.

Early Childhood Education Instructor 1 Full-Time Term Position: tentative start mid November Dauphin Manitoba The Louis Riel Vocational College is a Private Vocational College and an affiliate of the Manitoba Metis Federation. We are dedicated to providing post secondary educational training for all regions and participants across Manitoba. The LRVC requires one Early Childhood Education Instructor. This is a term position. Reporting the Early Childhood Educator Lead Instruct...or, the successful candidate will have daily teaching duties, be responsible for classroom management, student supervision and advising, maintenance of student records and grades, curriculum review/development and other administrative tasks as assigned. Qualifications: ECE Diploma with Level II or III certification Effective communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational abilities Ability to work independently as well in a teaching situation Demonstrated ability to understand and to deal with issues specific to Metis, Indigenous learners, and mature students in the Northwest Region of Manitoba Personal experience and/or knowledge and understanding of the Metis and other Indigenous cultures Assets: The ability to speak an Indigenous language preferably Michif Certificate in Adult Education certification or relevant teaching experience Conditions of Employment: Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check Applicants must provide a cover letter, résumé, and references with their application.
