May is #CFAwareness Month. Swipe through to learn more! @ Regina, Saskatchewan

Lawn Summer Nights Regina 12.11.2020

#Repost @lawnsummeryxe with @get_repost Cystic fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting young Canadians, and yet there are many people who don't know anything about it. In recognition of cystic fibrosis awareness month, we're launching a project of awareness, acceptance, and support, inspired by a boy named MacKenzie who just happened to have cystic fibrosis. Like all CF kids (and adults) MacKenzie had to take over 50 pills every day. When a friend ...saw this and asked if someone could "catch" what he had, Mac responded: "No, I just have bad genes." The other kid was wearing torn up pants and said "I have bad jeans too! It became a joke among a group of kids who rallied around their friend to show him that he wasn’t any different. Today, we want you to meet someone else with "bad genes" who is going to share a little bit about what their life is like with CF: Jillian Langen @jillianjadela. Swipe for story Now it's your turn to help us raise awareness around CF. We challenge you to show off your "bad jeans" in support of our "bad genes". Share a photo of you wearing your worst pair of jeans and follow the instructions below for your chance to win a $250 gift card to @frankandoak (and maybe upgrade those jeans?) or make a donation to CF Canada via the link in our bio. To enter the contest, simply: 1. Make sure you're following @lawnsummeryqr 2. Post a photo of you wearing your distressed jeans and use the hashtag #mybadgenes 3. Tag @lawnsummeryqr in your photo. 4. Tag 2 friends you nominate to post their #mybadgenes as well. Camera shy? Have them make a donation to CF Canada instead (link in bio)! We'll announce the winner June 1 2020, so make sure you get those submissions in. Together, let's make CF stand for Cure Found.

To say we miss you guys and these days would be an understatement, and that makes this announcement especially hard. We have been watching the COVID-19 situation and response grow every day, and while we remained hopeful that we would still be able to get on the greens this July, the reality is that with so much uncertainty, we no longer think that's possible, or even responsible. We will not be opening registration for LSN in May, and we will not be bowling in July. So what ...does this mean for all of you? Well first, we want to say we're NOT cancelling Lawn Summer Nights. While bowling is a huge part of what we do, and fundraising is super important, we are also a community - twenty cities across Canada were set to bowl this summer and we know those teams have a lot to offer off the greens as well. We are thinking about a ton of different ways we can still make this summer fun, and we encourage you to stay connected with us here on social, and on your local social accounts, to find out how we're going to do that. (By the way, if you have any ideas, send them our way. Hit up the comments below with any virtual options you'd be down for!). It also means that we're still here, and we're prepared to change as quickly as the situation changes. If things look brighter later in the year, we aren't going to let a little thing like weather get in the way of a good time. So yes, #LawnSummerNights2020 is going to look a lot different. But it's still going to have the same heart. Stick with us, stay home, and stay healthy. #lawnsummer
