Adventures in dog bathing!! As some of you know COVID-19 basically shut down my former business plans. After being a Vet Tech for 10yrs, I have been trying to find my niche in the pet industry. My experience, love and connection to animals are too important for me to let go of. Vet-Aid never quite took off as the housecall service bridging the gap between Vet Clinics and their client's home. Senior Paws Doggie Daycare my plan to focus on senior dogs and those with limited ...mobility, though I still feel it is an amazing idea, did not take off fast enough. Though Brutus Parker remains in my care during the day there have been no new additions. After much evaluation of my life and options lately, I considered returning to a steady office job and even interviewed at a few places. I was then offered a job, given a start date, then Indeed inbox me new job postings which included a new posting for the job I just got... The next morning they left a message saying a previous staff wanted to come back and it was easier! BS!!! If that's not a sign I should not go back to the office world I don’t know what is! I decided to investigate a few options, like going back to vet clinic work, but then I hear such horror stories of things that are going on in clinics these days. Most of which simply boils down to a lack of quality and qualified staff. That and of course that 19 vet clinics in Nova Scotia are now owned by the same out of province management company. FYI his is why costs are high and service quality has gone down in a lot of practices. Of course, judge for yourself... then shop local! All this makes biting that bullet to go back really hard if even an option at all. Then I contemplated just being an employee a doggie daycare for all dogs. That was short-lived, having to listen to someone with little to no experience tell me wrong information about what I was seeing the dogs do and improper cleaning methods, were all red flags! Finally, I discovered GROOMING! So far so good... more details to follow my friends

Quality of life, how do you know when it's time? There is no rule for everyone. One idea that has always stuck with me is that the best way to tell is to take note of things they enjoy. When she can't enjoy her favorite thing to do since puppy hood anymore, that will be a huge part of the decision. BUT for now she's going strong 14 going on 15 yrs of happiness, I love this girl so much it hurts lol
