As the littles turn 3 in a couple short weeks I've been reflecting a lot on the time that has passed. Whew it was a whirlwind, and to be honest I don't remember them turning 1... or 2. I felt like we were in survival mode 100% of the time and it was craziness! As we phase into full blown toddler world, I am able to take a deep breathe more often and ENJOY. Enjoy watching them play and learn and interact. Enjoy as they turn into these little humans with such different pers...onalities and strengths and quirks. Wondering who they will continue to grow in to and enjoying loving them where they are at. This may be one of my favorite life chapters, but it's also one of the most difficult. I'm still so needed. My body, my time, my attention... none of it really belongs to me. Day, or night. But I know this won't last forever, and I actually do find comfort in knowing the I AM their comfort. I'm the person my kids cry for when they fall or hurt themselves. Who they run to when they have something exciting to share. The snuggles they crave before they fall asleep. The cozy little arm nook that they all love to be in as they snuggle in and chill. How blessed - and stressed some days!... to be able to be home with them. To have the time to learn and love and grow with them, the energy... although sometimes they really push me to run on fumes , the strength to figure it out, and the support of a wonderful hubby and some incredible family and friends. It's hard now but one day they won't need me as much.... and I think THAT will be way harder. If you crave that time.
